Huh...stay focused and stop making attempts to alter statements.

You and others were saying that it wasnt projected to top 1 billion because it is a "Doctor Strange movie", when in reality this was expected to be a larger movie than what it was.

Dr. Strange is obviously supposed to repace Tony Stark but they invested so much into a terrible movie directed by Raimi.

The shyt flopped.
I just asked what was the source for the projection. And you provided it thanks.

Thats the problem with building up to a final big bad boss....because after thats done....Now what? They built up to Thanos for like 10 years......now the stakes are smaller and the movies feel like a repeat.....A black widow movie against some random organization? Shang Chi against his pops? Eternals doing dumb shyt....none of this shyt is going together or building up to an even bigger threat then Thanos.

This recent Dr.Strange movie was a mess....instead of building upon the multiverse from the spiderman movie and unlocking the new big bad boss they would rather repeat the wanda storyline of her delusions......like wtf. There isn't alot of creativity in the marvel movies, but they used to hide that because of the sparks and excitement, but now that is gone they whole formula is getting expossed for the mediocre product it is.....they really out here pumping out a third Ant-man movie.

When the marvel shows started popping off i watched them....Wanda vision, Falcon and even Loki....but none of them shyts were memorable. i ain't even care to watch Moon knight or Hawkeye. And it ain't no superhero fatigue because everybody going nuts over the boys in their third season.

Dr. Strange hinted at some big things to come if you know where to look. I'll keep it to myself so when it is referred to in the future you will not be expecting it and will enjoy it more. lol

I get that I wouldn't mind a mini event movie with many characters either but yeah Antman 3 is going to have Kang so that's a plus.

2016 - 2018 over a 14 month period had the the five movies drop:
Doctor Strange
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Spider-Man: Homecoming
Thor: Ragnarok
Black Panther

2021 - 2022 over the same 14 month period is going to end up with:
Black Widow
Shang-Chi
Eternals
Spider-Man: No Way Home
Dr. Strange 2
Thor: Love and Thunder
Black Panther 2

Not that much different over a same time period. Eternals was mid and Black Widow, while no impact going forward the MCU, was good for a movie to fulfill whatever obligation they made to Scarlett Jo & the character.

There's no doubt that Marvel raising the bar with the Infinity Saga has caused people to have high expectations with every release, along with there going to be a lack of patience from people to let things develop.
The last few Disney+ shows haven't been great (Hawkeye & Moon Knight; haven't started watching Ms. Marvel yet), but those before were solid. They've served their purpose as fillers and entertainment to watch like other streaming shows. :manny:

Seriously.

Youare easily the worst poster in this sub-forum
I’ve heard worse, man. I’ll take that.
Timeout. You two really felt a Doctor Strange movie would make a billion dollars? I don't see that. At all. And I doubt Disney/Marvel saw that. The first one didn't come anywhere close to that and that was pre pandemic. "Importance" in a larger story doesn't dictate how well these movies do; its about the character, and the cultural moment. A Doctor strange movie is still about...doctor strange. there is a ceiling there on how much money that movie will gross, regardless of what anyone on the internet believes.

I hate when people talk to just to talk.

The film was always projected to top 1 billion.

"Chaos magic is headed to the box office. The official prediction for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is an opening weekend gross of $205 million, totaling $520 million domestically, and a worldwide haul of $1.1 billion."

Yeah and I disagreed with that prediction then and still do now. Cats make projections all the time. No one projected top gun to be the monster it is right now and it surprised everyone.

Yup. Sorry @MartyMcFly but that's the truth :manny: And that's why it had a 69% drop after the OW. Most MCU movies are not that frontloaded.

Anyone who discusses B.O. will tell you that frontloaded and a poor multiplier means WOM was not as strong as they thought
Like I said, sounds foolish to me for a litany of reasons. But cool that’s how they felt. I wouldn’t make that bet if I was sitting in a board room and they paid me to do such things.
