The struggle of a black man in America. The simple fact Hammer did not conform to stereotypes of being a "savage", a White man felt he was more of the culture than a Black man being positive and giving back more than anyone at the time to his community. It's disgusting as hell man.

hammer got x'd out because he and his brother were making too many moves behind the scenes, shaking chit up. people like Sylvia rhone hated them.
and he x'd himself out musically by crossing over too much. I'm not gonna call him a sellout, but he strayed too far away from his early hits like "lets get it started" & "turn this mutha out". it never ends well when artists do that.......and to top it off, this is the early '90s we're talking about.
so when the crossover audience moved on, he no longer had a core audience to fall back on. and the people behind the curtain hated him, so they poured salt on his wounds and are still disrespecting his legacy via media.
