Hammer got a lot of slack because he came out saying he was better than run dmc so everyone from LL, 3rd base, Qtip , Cube and others diss him

Ice T was the only one sticking up for hammer saying how can he be a sellout when hammer music was always about dancing.. He wasnt no thug turn pop artist.

Half them rappers back then couldn't say shyt about hammer because they was getting fukk by they labels like tribe called quest and others was fukking over people like ice cube, eazy

I gotta call bullchit on this...not on you personally, but I remember this being the whoompty whoomp dudes was talking on Hammer.

The truth is, Hammer was never really accepted by "hip-hop".
The only people remember I blatantly going at Hammer was 3rd Bass. And you say "hiphop" but Hammer was accepted by the hood and the streets, which kept of a lot hiphop at bay. He was a huge entertainer at the height of his career. People like to rewrite the shyt now, because they don't wanna seem corny, but nikkas wasn't :hhh: @ Hammer then. And I'll repeat there was balance, so a Public Enemy and other gangster groups were also able to co-exist with Hammer.

It wasn't that serious. That was back when rappers would throw little jabs at eachother in music then laugh about it when they seen eachother

What Mc Hammer said in his Rap was "im second to none to Doug E Fresh to LL and Dj Run"

It was all fun like how when Salt N Pepa first came out they dissed Doug E Fresh and Slick for no reason

Now when Mc Serch and Redman dissed Mc Hammers mom things got serious

30 years later and dude could still bring a crowd to their feet:

If Hammer wasn't hip-hop, Jermaine Dupri wasn't either. Kind of like in that interview when Jermaine Dupri was comparing his music and Outkast's. These Hammer vs ___ are just comparing two different kinds of artists.

More reason why breh stuck to positive music. When you been through struggle you want to have fun when you make it big and when you do talk about the streets it's via story telling more so than glorifying the condition many black people are in.

Telling a story about something dark and sad vs bragging about killing folks is two very different things.

Nelly was a real life street nikka too,but was also seen as one of the softest rappers in the game:mjlol:

He even looked out for his dancers instead of just trying to fukk them, had rules against them dating on the road and being groupies, because he wanted them to maintain a good reputation.

She said he got upset when she did Sir Mixalots Put Em On The Glass video

She's the one in the pink bikini, don't get more righteous than Hammer if you can get mad at that:whoo:

It's all goooooood uh huh (slow nod)
:myman:

When the little boy got killed in the Hammer VHS tape
:mjcry:

Hammer was a little too generous. He had like 30 people dancing on stage in order to give them jobs. That's nice, but not financially smart. These record labels don't give artists any financial training, or explain that everything they get has to be paid for: transportation, hair and makeup, security, food, costumes, publicist, marketing, producers, sound mixing, lighting, meanwhile, they're building homes with 10 water fountains.
