Master P should have been stopped pushing those bum ass products and signing these random artists and signed some real up and comers

He tried it with Kodak with that mentorship bullshyt but Kodak wasn’t going for it

He should have tried signing G-Herbo his team is already called No Limit

Wayne was not flopping. Certified plaques for his early albums. :yeshrug:

Wayne didn't become a mega-star over night. It took time and development. Birdman and Slim put the right components around him to ensure he flourished. And he did.

Baby and Slim are businessman. Everyone is disposable to them. Even Wayne. When Wayne got cold for a bit, Birdman ditched Wayne for Quan and Thugga for a minute.
Lol @ certified plaques :stopitslime: going gold was a flop. Like i said juvie left, came back and was still bigger than him.

And who wound up being bigger in the end? :usure:

Talking about Wayne dumb, Juvie came back again and did an album with Birdman this year. :mjlol:

So in the early 00s going gold was a success? You disqualified from speaking on this if you think that.

nikkas was getting dropped for going gold. Juvie done went back multiple times, you ain't heard shyt of him being played after the first time. Juvie wasn't the one dissing nikkas for leaving only to realize he was getting ripped off years later, that was Wayne.

You said Wayne was flopping, but he still had certified plaques. :manny:

He was growing and eventually emerged as a superstar.

It worked. Baby and Slim were right.

Juvie comes back for a reason, despite Baby and Slim's rep. He knows what they bring to the table. His biggest success was with them. Same for Wayne. Same for Mannie. That can't be denied.

Which gets back to the original point about Master P and his problem with quality product over the years.

He lacked the skill that Baby and Slim have of cultivating and developing music talent. Providing an environment for creative talents to flourish, and maximizing their full potential, musically.

P did that for Snoop from a business perspective. But musically, Snoop went back to Dre, Quik, Meech, Battlecat, Timbaland, etc. on Top Dog and Last Meal, and then later with the Neptunes.

Hip-hop artist and mogul Master P and son Romeo announced today the formation of a new record label, Take A Stand Records, with the mission of cleaning up both the image and lyrics of hip-hop music. The new label will represent artists that have pledged to be role models to both the music industry and music lovers of all walks of life through 100% clean lyrics and positive moral values.

Master P made the announcement public and gave further justification for the label via an open letter available on the web site,

In the letter, Master P states, "personally, I have profited millions of dollars through explicit rap lyrics. I can honestly say that I was once part of the problem and now it's time to be part of the solution. I am ready to take a stand by cleaning up my music and follow my son's footsteps and make a clean rap album. [...] I am not expecting the entire industry to change overnight but this is one positive step towards the growth of hip-hop."

The first release under the new label will be a father and son album from Master P and Romeo titled Hip Hop History. The record will contain clean lyrics and will debut this fall.

Rather than perpetuate the conventional hip-hop stereotypes of violence, sex and wealth, music from Take A Stand Records artists will address social issues and positivity.

Master P added, "there's too much negativity out there -- enough with the stereotypes. Hip-hop is a movement, and it is time for it to move forward."

Take A Stand Records seeks to be a hip-hop label with a conscience. Proceeds from record sales will be made available to underprivileged youth in the form of scholarships. In addition, Take A Stand Records will seek partnerships with organizations such as the NAACP and retailers such as Target and Wal-Mart that are in direct contact with communities.

The neptunes probably had some creative input on the mystikal album after he left no limit...that's a gamechanger

nikkas who stayed in trouble like C and slim cant be depended on..and C Murder was not talented enough to kick it up a notch to carry any label..

RIP to magic

But it wasnt happening...

And I'm convinced that after lil bow wow started poppin, p told romeo to get in the studio :mjlol:

It was a done deal for them nikkas

To be fair, most of Mystikal's Let's Get Ready was completed while he was on The Tank.

P and No Limit could've had a nice run in the '00's, but didn't capitalize. Mercedes "I Can Tell" was a hood classic that could've crossed over had they promoted it. There was another sleeper hit in "Crazy Bout Ya". Then you had Mac and "I Can Tell" would've been the perfect set up for him especially with the remake of "Wobble Wobble" in the pipeline. Currency could've extended their run.

Romeo had skits on TRU 2 Da Game and Goodfellas before Bow Wow dropped. Where P dropped the ball with Romeo was playing up a friendship between Romeo and Bow Wow that didn't exist. That and the fact they couldn't follow up with a hit after the song that sampled Jackson 5.

P is Top 5 All-Time if we’re talking sheer hustle/work ethic/business mindedness. However...self-awareness and quality control have never been his strong suits.

Lifelong fan. No Limit along with 2Pac was my introduction to rap as a kid...but if I’m keeping it a buck everything P has touched since the year 2000 (music, movies, fashion) has been tacky as fukk.
