Post 98 I've always seen Master P as mix between China and Walmart.

Never ahead of the curve, always looking at what other people are doing and flooding the market with a cheaper version :mjlol:

Then he makes interviews talking about how high integrity he has and how real he is, when he's really just a very money hungry, independent, shameless, and opportunist business man. This should be applauded imo :yeshrug:
That nikka went to Capitol Hill with David Banner and said rap is filth...then he seen the positivity gimmick wasn't working so he went back to the Ice Cream Man image :snoop: that nikka P has no integrity.

Yo, Master P can't dress, can't act and can't wrestle but he has tried his hand multiple times in Fashion, Film and WCW wrestling. I will always salute his ambition...but at some point actual talent and quality product comes into play homie, lol.
P never had a wrestling match lol

He was grooming talent for CP3 Records

He actually discovered “Da Hot Spitta”

Prime No Limit was great when everyone was in position and playing their roles. After everyone began going their separate ways p’s lack of foresight was on display

He thought he could just plug new faces in roles

Original 504 Boyz > the rebranded 504 Boyz with new members and new producers

Sort of like the original Temptations > the Temptations without David Ruffin

They had a great run
The Temptations with Dennis Edwards was still nice. I would say more so when all of the core of the originals (well best known) was just Otis and Blue (although they still managed to have hits here and there).

But back on P, liek some have said, when BBTP dipped and folks followed their allegances and Mystikal left the tank, it was a sinking ship, but I won't ever speak ill about P's hustle.

He just need to quick with the fashion though. That ain't never been it, but most rappers that put out some form of it has always been trash. Do we need to look at the Lugz and 310 exclusives? :unimpressed:

This is facts..I mean just look at this crap :dead: what kind of grandma nurse shoe shyt is this? Respect to being an entrepreneur but 90% of everything he puts out is garbage

Any nikka walk up rocking those kicks getting laughed at to their face. P should be ashamed of himself pushing such a bad product. Should've just put out dress shoes like these and slapped a $300 price tag on em.

They all had better contingency plans, invested in the future, and had artists who could execute the plan

By the time Mannie left, Wayne had gotten so hot he was commanding production from the biggest producers in the game

Still none of them managed to make toys, play in the NBA, put out 3 movies (not including the cluster fukk that is IGH2) and still have a successful chip business

P also played a key role in rebranding Snoop, who was on the verge of self destructing.

That last part is the truth. :whew:

P saved Snoop's career (and life to an extent). Was one of if not the few labels who would take on Snoop with the baggage of his beef with Death Row. Snoop always gives credit to P for showing him how to do business. And you see it today. Snoop is into all kind of businesses, TV shows, etc. Snoop's brand is huge today. Credit to P.

P was a street hustler that just happened to be a great talent evaluator and he had a very good marketing strategy at the time.

Also great timing and coming along when a newer generation of fans were looking for something different helped as well.

P had a nice stable of artists in Snoop, Mystikal, Mia X, Mac, Fiend, Soulja Slim, Mr. Magic, and even a young Curren$y.

UGK was collaborating with them heavy to although never officially on the tank.

That combined with a nice in house production team in Beats By the Pound made for a hot label.

There is a price that comes with success and as much as I like P when those royalty checks started coming he didn't want to pay those guys.

Slowly one by one those guys started leaving and doing their own thing.

Even C-Murder, P's brother, started doing his own thing with his own record label TRU Records.

It got to the point the tank was only P's other brother Silk The Shocker and his son Lil Romeo.

People saying Cash Money stopped them, but Cash Money had a whole different sound than No Limit even though they based in New Orleans.

CMR had a lot more commercial friendly sound.

Ironically Cash Money's downfall was the same thing the Williams brothers, Baby and Slim, didn't want to pay those guys. That's why BG, Juve, and even Turk left CMR.

Even Mannie Fresh who was responsible for their whole sound bounced.

That wasn't Cash Money's downfall. Baby and Slim knew it was time to move forward with Wayne as the future and new sounds. BG, Juvie and Mannie were disposable before the fans knew it. Harsh, but keen business move on Baby and Slim's part. Their bet was correct.

Gotdamn breh. We're seeing eye-to-eye. :dead:

This is the exact song I was thinking of when I said biting off Cash Money.
I was told that P wasn't biting CMR.

Whoever told me that, must've been blind and deaf.

Best think to come from that era of P bitin' CMR was that dance 5th Ward Weebie did in all their videos.
