Master P is an businessman not an artist.

It would be like me starting a tech company. I have no love for tech, no eye for tech, no idea of what tech savvy people want or care about, no idea how to give a product legs or longevity, market placement, etc....Basically I dont know anything. I would finance it, hire great people who know the business and are great at it....and stay behind the scenes totally. You would never see me.

That's what P needs to do with music/movies now. His products-because of his constant cash grabs-have a stigma where people pre-judge them as trash.

Take his shoes. I'm not a sneaker head, but them shyts look like trash to me. What if he paid young kids/creative directives who know whats poppin, got with marketing people who suggested a better name...did all of the shyt that I mentioned with the tech example above...got some influencers (whoever the hell the popular young rappers are now) to rock them and.....only revealed it was his product when the brand was maybe in its 3rd year?

no way am I going to hate on P. he is a positive businessman. his son is his partner. I respect the guy. I will order IGTH2 at home and watch just to support. He said himself, that his shoes may not be the best in terms of style, but you do what you can to produce a quality product and the more successful it becomes, the more you are able to invest back in to it to improve the product. I remember the very first NIKE shoe. nobody but cacs were wearing them shyts and no black person would be caught dead in them shyts today. likewise with other brands like Reebok and NB. black support took those brands to the next level, especially NIKE. we out here killing each other over Jordans but clown a black man for having his own shoe, which between his and NIKE are produced in the same sweatshops and cost virtually the same to make.

He didn’t have a Lil Wayne and he wasn’t grooming the future of the label.

All of his all stars were in their prime before they either got locked up or left and the bench was his son..

He had no real vision for any of the other No Limit acts.

Krazy, Soulja Slim, Mr.Magic were great role players in NL’s prime, but when it was time for them to carry the tank they couldn’t.

Baby & Slim had the same thing happen to them except Mannie Fresh & Lil Wayne stayed.

Had Beats by the Pound stayed and C Murder doesn’t get locked up, and Mystikal releases Let’s get ready under No Limit

We’re having different discussion

It was over even if bbtp stayed and c murder gets locked up...

Shake ya ass dosent happen if mystikal is on no limit..

They had no chance

P was taking the easy way out and either milking the soldier shyt or 2nd rate trend hopping...

That’s why I keep perspective when assessing P.

He’s a genius from the hood.

If his accomplishments were so easy to achieve, everyone would do it regardless of the climate/circumstances their in.

Why do you say that doesn’t happen?

The Neptunes worked with No Limit on 504 Boyz’s Goodfellas album

I don’t think he groomed the bench to become starters, so taking the “easy” way was his option.

He had a young Soulja Slim... still had Fiend... Mr.Magic and C murder gifted him Curren$y.

The only artist he truly invested time in was Romeo and I ain’t mad at him for that.

Exactly!!! Cash Money was on his ass and the tank was treading water like a boat :russ: so he had to go all in with the gimmicks and catchy songs like Wobble Wobble and corny songs like this

lol.

I never realized how blatant it was. I remember thinking this was a cashmoney song.

this my first time watching the video

I didnt say it was. just saying I wont hate on his movements. I dont listen to P. I never purchased any of his albums. When I worked at a record store, I did get all of NL stuff by promo though so I did have a couple of his cd's and some of the songs from his artists were ok, the best being Snoop of course but SS, Fiend, etc...had some good tracks that I dug here and there. overall, not my type of music but always respected him. as for his movies, I enjoyed them because I look at it as pure comedy because they are so cheesy. I am going to watch IGTH2 off the strength of my respect for him and all the actors in there that I like. someone saying it is trash wont deter me from supporting it.

To be fair most Louisiana nikkas can’t dress, have no swag, no personality, bordline retarded with minimal talent :yeshrug:

P is the Donald Trump of hip hop, everything he touches sucks and fails

The neptunes probably had some creative input on the mystikal album after he left no limit...that's a gamechanger

nikkas who stayed in trouble like C and slim cant be depended on..and C Murder was not talented enough to kick it up a notch to carry any label..

RIP to magic

But it wasnt happening...

And I'm convinced that after lil bow wow started poppin, p told romeo to get in the studio :mjlol:

It was a done deal for them nikkas
