During a recent Q&A on Facebook, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn was asked whether or not Diesel will suit up as Black Bolt in the upcoming TV series, but Gunn’s response makes it clear that he doesn’t think that’s going to be the case:

The Inhumans is going to be a TV show. Unless Vin wants to take a huge pay cut and sign up to do a TV show it seems unlikely.

i still don't believe people actually like Vin Diesel. He's a block of wood. I mean, the box office says they do, but outside of Fast, which Vin Diesel movies are people running out to watch? And are people going to those to see Vin Diesel? Dude has all these shytty franchises he thinks people are clamoring for. XXX3? He said they're working on another Pacifier? He wants to make more Witchhunter movies? Did people go see the third Riddikk? etc. I know that character doesn't speak, but i still don't want to actually SEE him in a Marvel property.

he has a ton of facebook followers though or something. i guess old people love him?

Marvel’s ‘Inhumans’ TV Series To Shoot Moon Action Sequences In IMAX

Inhumans-1.jpg

It’s been a week since we found out that an Inhumans television series is heading to ABC, but we now have a few more details on what we can expect from the project, which will arrive in the fall of 2017 after making its debut in over 1000 IMAX theaters.

While initial reports suggested that the eight-episode series would be entirely shot with IMAX digital cameras, The Hollywood Reporter reveals that it will just be the first two episodes that will be fully filmed in the format. There will also be a few subsequent action sequences that will utilize the technology, including certain scenes that “will be set on the moon,” which is where the fictional Inhuman city of Attilan is located in the comics.

Another thing that we do know about the series is that it will follow Black Bolt and the rest of the Inhuman royal family. The report mentions that the series hasn’t begun casting yet, which means that it’s going to be a while until we hear some solid casting news regarding these characters. That’s pretty much all for now, but we’ll keep you updated when more information on the Inhumans TV series comes along.

Marvel’s The Inhumans will debut in IMAX theaters on September 4, 2017.

IMAX Looking To Add More Shows After ‘Inhumans’

After a while of having the Inhumansmovie sit on the shelf for months with no real plans for it to actually happen, Marvel threw us a curve-ball when they announced that they would be reincarnated from the the comics into a TV show, though the movie would still be happening after Phase 4. We don’t know many details concerning the cast, but we do know that the show itself will be coming out next September, with a limited 2-week release of the first two episodes in IMAX theaters, and will consist of 8 episodes total.

Many are excited about this new development, and there’s more that’s come out today. We’ve had shows have episodes air in movie theaters like Game of Thrones, but none that have premiered in theaters. The first two episodes will have about 80 minutes of content, and will be shown in IMAX to contain “cinema-quality visual effects” and be “enhanced due to IMAX technology”, according to the NY Times. The move has made IMAX Entertainment CEO Greg Foster interested in bringing some more shows in the IMAX world.

“We’re already looking for a second [series]. This is at the high end of the range of what we’ll be doing, but we’re already looking for a second one. It’s a really exciting opportunity that could blossom into more.”

While we aren’t exactly sure if these plans will include Marvel or not, this is pretty exciting to know that theInhumans show won’t be the only one we’ll be waiting in line for in the coming years. The shows that come from this unprecedented show premiere will open up shows to have better quality, like we mentioned earlier. The CEO also went on to say;

“Hopefully this will spawn more seasons of the show, and opportunistically, we’re looking at other opportunities and programs that we can become part of.”

With every but of news that comes up with this show, it only makes me more excited for the future of Marvel television, and other TV shows that might follow the Inhumans lead. Perhaps changing the Inhumans from being only a movie to being a show and a future movie was a good idea, as the decision has excited the fans for next year, along with all of their other projects. Hopefully we don’t get disappointed with this one, but so far, this ship is sailing.

Marvel's 'Inhumans' Sets 'Dexter' Grad as Showrunner (Exclusive)

Scott Buck, who is currently overseeing Netflix's Marvel show 'Iron Fist,' will do the same with the forthcoming ABC drama.

Buck will serve as showrunner on the drama series, with the first two episodes set to exclusively unspool in Imax theaters over a two-week period starting Labor Day Weekend 2017 before the drama debuts on ABC in September in a groundbreaking, first-of-its-kind collaboration that helps cut through the crowded fall landscape.

The Inhumans deal extends Marvel's relationship with Buck, who is currently serving as showrunner on the comic book powerhouse's Netflix drama Iron Fist. Iron Fist is Marvel and Netflix's fourth series, with the fifth — mini The Defenders — set to feature stars from the former as well as Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage.

Iron Fist
marks Buck's first post-Dexter gig. Buck served as showrunner for the final three seasons of Showtime's Michael C. Hall serial-killer-with-a-code drama after taking over for Clyde Phillips. Buck's credits also include Six Feet Under, Rome and Coach. He's repped by CAA.

Picked up straight to series Nov. 14, The Inhumans is ABC's latest Marvel collaboration. The live-action TV series is not taking the place of the planned feature film and is not a spinoff of ABC's Marvel drama Agents of SHIELD. This becomes ABC's third Marvel series, following SHIELD and the late and great Agent Carter. Inhumans is produced by Marvel, ABC Studios and Imax, with all episodes set to be filmed with Imax cameras.
