The last 20-30 Minutes had me with Yondu and Peter defeating Ego. The way Gunn did just really brought that Movie UP for. It just really Worked with the situation of Peter not knowing his Father and all that. I'm actually pretty glad that I barely watched every TV Spot and Trailer multiple times, it made every really fresh and surprising. Adam Warlock coming soon. All this Family Talk and the reveal of the Original GOTG too with Sly Stallone also makes me wonder if Infinity War is going to collect some actual Bodies from both Earth and Space. Great Movie, of course not better than the 1st but not by much.
Man, they had me for how they were disrespecting Baby Groot like that. Teenage Years Groot is going to be Hilarious, I hope he pops up in Infinity War.

I saw it tonight. I liked it quite a bit, I'll add more thoughts later. Reading through this thread is trash, it's the same 4-5 Marvel stans every couple posts and none of them add anything more than emojis and hyperbole. I've never seen these fakkits discuss a movie other than an MCU movie

I would recommend seeing this in 4DX

Any space based movie is really fun in 4Dx because in space battles the chair rocking around like the screen .. it's like those rides in universal

I enjoyed the zannyness of this movie a lot and the bright colors - it reminds me of jack Kirby mixed with spaceballs

The soundtrack for this one I like a bit more then the frist cause while I have heard like half the songs in the other one in moviea and commericals

I only knew blue sky cause of the common sample and flash light


It weird cause other people seem un moved by it ... but it hit me in all the right places .. I'd say it my number one marvel movie ever

This film has no obvious set up for infinity wars and I kind of like the first two gaurdians were largely unburden by the larger contuinty of the MCU

Nebula maaan her opening up hit me the hardest Thanos gave her thay work due to Gamora kicking her ass. Yondu and Rocket bonding about how Rocket is who he used to be was dope. Stallone and Michelle being part of the OG Guardians was cool so I expect either a movie for them or they will be a part of the next Guardians flick. Ego becoming a Celestial and being KILLED thoughThat isn't supposed to be happen damn that brain shyt

So Celestials can get bodied Thanos needed the IG to do thatLet me find out The Living Tribunal can get taken out by a minigun or some shytAdarm Warlocke being name dropped had me

Groot was ok I figured they'd milk the hell out of him Eh don't feel like writing anything else right now

Overall it was ok to me I was kinda underwhelmed leaving though and the humor wasn't necessary when the characters were getting depth added to them. I liked the first one more honestly but it's not bad or anything just my thoughts

I think I'm coming down on that side with you. Loved it but the first one is probably a bit better but this is still dope. And character work and my emotional connection aside it's got a few issues but nothing to completely derail it and I think that's a testament to the characters and james gunn

Peter losing the power didn't bother me as much because Ego kept specifically saying his power was tied to the "light in the center". What killed me it is ridiculous for something that's aware of it's immortality to become impatient about something like converting Quill to his side. Time is the one thing he literally shouldn't care about.....AND even worse that he dropped the "I put the tumor in your mom" nugget which made no sense at all. Why in the fukk would he kill her? Why would he even taunt Quill that way? If he could build a planet he could've easily had Quill there for years or more doing Jedi mind tricks on him AND if he's a celestial how in the actual fukk could he not know where they were in his body? So many fukking holes

Drax was hilarious. They made Rocket an angsty teenager. Gamora and Quill do the usual "we wanna fukk, but won't admit it" sitcom thing.

The media has a Marvel slant. There's more plot holes in this than any in suicide squad or BvS, but it's all forgiven because there's a soundtrack and Groot dances. It's not even close to the 1st one which is my favorite Marvel movie. It should be getting panned so people are prepared.

He killed her because she was the one thing keeping him from his "purpose" and knew if she was around he'd never want to leave earth. So rather than have the self control to just not visit earth he decided getting rid of her was the next best idea. Made sense to me when you think about the guys name being Ego. It's all about him and all about what gets him over.

As far as why he tells peter; yeah he could've told him later but again it's the ego and arrogance to believe if I tell him now it'll be okay because he'll understand. Metaphorically, it felt to me like when a parent assumes their child is like them and will look at things the way they do. Ego believed peter would see things the way he sees things and that he's more god than human
