The idea of young avengers is fine tbh, regardless of if anyone asked for it. Black people didn't know what a Wakanda was until 2016 nor who Blade was prior to '98. Nor were comic fans asking for Blade back then, nor GotG a decade ago. My point is, caring what comic fans want is a double edged sword (bc a lot of them ain't shyt) and mainstream audiences are passive participants who go with the flow as long as it looks compelling.

The last point is where the real problem may lie tho, in that how compelling/well received are cassie, katie, riri, kamala, chavez, eli, etc? It was mentioned in another thread the lack of a hero's journey for at least a few of these characters, which may be skipping some important steps that had people feel compelled to follow tony, steve, thor, t'challa, peter, etc.
I completely agree with this, always have

This shouldn’t be a movie. It should be a 10 episode show on streaming with a cameo in another movie. Seems like after End Game they just started throwing darts at the board.
They done blade movies with wesley and blade tv shows with sticky fingas. one of those things was trash af and should never be revisited.

Meanwhile Hugh Jackman over here eating 8000 calories a day getting ready for the fukkery

And Disney already agreed to an R rating for Deadpool but insist on a PG-13 rating for Blade. :mjpls:

And Blade 3 was trash because those cacs tried to take it from Wesley. That's why they added those two cacs. They wanted to make the franchise cac centric :mjpls:

I don't think they were ever going to re-cast no matter how long they waited.

Because the rumor is that they wanted to replace him with Shuri as Black Panther even before he passed. So they wanted him out of the way to hurry up and get to their Black Panther: No Men forever bs

That's why Coogler originally made Shuri the super smart one even though T'Challa is supposed to be one of the smartest in the MCU from the comics and one of the best fighters in the MCU.

As for the movie, Marvel was probably leaning on him to hurry up and make it so they can make some more money. Regardless of quality.

I think that “They wanted Chadwick out the way to make way for Shuri” is an absolute horse shyt rumor that no real reputable site reported on.

Its evidenced by the movies themselves that they didn’t have ANY immediate plans for Shuri to take on the mantle in the MCU.

Shuri being the smart one didn’t make her worthy of being ruler. In the first film she couldn’t fight worth a damn, exhibited ZERO leadership qualities, and herself had no inclinations or ambitions for the throne. She was the quintessential sidekick kid sister. Good for quips and backup, nothing more.

The way T’Challa was positioned in both Inifinity War and Endgame was a direct hint that he was meant to have a big role in the future of the MCU. It was setup for T’Challa, Captain Marvel, Scott Lang, and Sam Wilson to lead the new Avengers and once again, Shuri had no leadership nor standout moments in those films.

If Shuri was REALLY meant to take over they would have taken a page out of Reginald Hudlin’s Black Panther run and made Shuri a more conventional warrior with her own agency and ambitions for the throne. Hudlin had that set up PERFECTLY.

Also there were more reliable reports that Letia Wright never took the role of Shuri with any inclining that she would be Black Panther and struggled with the decision to make her so. Also given Ryan Coogler’s stated original plans for Wakanda Forever, T’Challa was going to be around and be King for years to come. He was even going to have a son, who would naturally be the next in line (not Shuri)

The mere fact that a vampire hunting movie with martial arts that was made all the way back in 1998 and will have

- a bigger budget
- bigger studio

- better technology
- actual anticipation of CBM

Shows this movie has no business being made if they have this much of a fukking struggle. Making this movie cannot be hard. Like HOW?!!

But wanna give one-trick pony ass Reynolds a rated R movie.
