Nothing about RDJ's redemption has to do with the content of his movies, breh. That's like saying Stranger Things inspired you because of how it got Winona Ryder back from being know as a has been shoplifter. Or Mr. Robot was inspirational for giving Christian Slater a second chance. Or Dallas Buyer's Club/True Detective inspired you because of Matthew McConaughey's resurgence.

I'm inspired like a mf by all those things you just listed :wow:

Francis Ford Coppola Backs Scorsese’s Marvel Superhero Movies Analysis, Calls The Films “Despicable”

In what’s sure to ignite yet another round of sniping, director Francis Ford Coppola has added his distinguished voice to that of fellow director Martin Scorsese in denouncing Marvel’s slate of superhero films.

Coppola was in Lyon, France to receive the Prix Lumiere for his contributions to cinema. In a press conference, he chose to back Scorsese, who said the films were “not cinema” and likened them to “theme parks.” The remarks set off the online community into a furious debate.

Coppola agreed with Scorsese.

“When Martin Scorsese says that the Marvel pictures are not cinema, he’s right, because we expect to learn something from cinema, we expect to gain something, some enlightenment, some knowledge, some inspiration. I don’t know that anyone gets anything out of seeing the same movie over and over again. Martin was kind when he said it’s not cinema. He didn’t say it’s despicable, which I just say it is.”

Scorsese’s comments drew strong reactions.

C. Robert Cargill, who wrote the screenplay for Doctor Strange, saluted Scorsese as a “genius,” but said “anyone who thinks Marvel is only trying to make theme park rides is being unjust and cynical.”

Martin Scorsese, Christopher Nolan Among Directors Launching "Filmmaker Mode" TV Setting

Like I said, he's most likely your favorite director's favorite director......:mjlol:

Hold on to the past? Martin got more classics total than any of these ''new'' revolutionary directors :mjlol:
I would hope a dude this far in the game has more classics than the new dudes. That said, I don't see any of my favorite "young" directors delving into the cbm realm. I mean, whose the best director making post-Nolan cbms? Wan?

You know the funniest part about this is that Scorcese talking about the MCU generates more attention than the film he just made. There’s are a handful of Irishman threads that go on for maybe 6 pages across 3 threads.

I don’t really have a point to make, but I find it hilarious.
The Irishman has not even premiered to the public yet dumbass

Wan, Coogler, Reeves come to mind. Most of the directors are assembly line status

Low key just being consistent with what they said 20 years ago and what turned out to be true.

They respect technological advancements and use them to their benefit but what they want to do is maintain some semblance of the human element that's been lost in a lot of blockbuster kid movie cash grabs.

I could listen to those two talk film for hours :ahh:
