Brehs, what are some good martial arts training videos?

Anything by Bas Rutten to start you off. Aside from that though....I'd suggest that you go ahead and join an actual place to train at. You can only learn so much reading and watching, but you actually LEARN once you apply it in action.

Since i know some of you motherfukkers are into Karate I'm posting this doc of Fujian White Crane, a kung fu style that is the ancestor of a lot of karate styles, and the originator of the 'sanchin' kata. Really cool external style with some tough physical training, im sure you will see the similarities right away. There is some wing chun fakkitry, but its whatever

Learn how to escape these moves and dodge these attacks.

If you can dodge and or escape these positions, you have a basic understanding of fighting human beings.

Trying to work on my chan si jing recently (silk reeling energy). It's a fundamental part of kung fu. think of it as your body's joints working in spirals to generate power. It's an efficiency of torque thing, if anyones done boxing... you twist everything from your feet up into your hips and back to strike things.

So my warmup now consists of a lot of this:

These methods are actually really great for anyone trying to improve their striking power and more importantly coordination/alignment.

Carry a knife. There is nothing better then someone clinching you while you hold a 4 inch blade in your hand. Please become familiar with hitting vital spots on the human body. These spots can save your life if you are being put under pressure by someone who has the ability to kill you with their bare hands. For example if someone is face to face with you and has you in a head and arm control, one of their armpits is in the air. Take your blade and insert it into the armpit. This man will not attack you anymore.

Yeah....if you most likely wanna catch a case. Might wanna research your areas self defense statutes before doing such a thing. If you're gonna go that route, might as well get your conceal carry license.

RTHK

Very similar to Goju Ryu....which is a very hard style like Kyokushin.

Goju has soft elements though right, like those circular blocks?

stabbing someone with a knife to death and pushing it off as self defense is not easy. you could easily cop manslaughter for that.

Im talking about situations where you plan on keeping it a secret.

Yeah, but it has elements such as hard sparring, and BRUTAL physical training(if you go to the right places, that is).

have you ever done makiwara punching? that shyt hurts, even if youre used to punching bags and have ogre hands.

conditioning hands/other surfaces for striking is different in every school but karate is #1 in the "fukk it just hit hard shyt dont be a puss" method :russ:

Punching hard things worked best for me. Also punching heavy bags with no gloves helped a lot as well. I have the record on many punching machines across mall arcades in America.
