Details on Manny's Contract Extension

Koncz told BoxingScene/Manila Standard - “After more than one month of negotiations with Top Rank and also a new player, Cash Money Records founded by Brian Williams aka “Birdman,” who was very pleasant to deal with and had some new refreshing ideas on forming a partnership with Manny and MP Promotions, Manny has decided to continue our partnership with Top Rank.” :mjlol:

Wikipedia reported that Cash Money Revords Inc was founded by brothers Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Donald “Slim” Williams, who currently act as CEOs. It operates as a subsidiary of Universal Music Group and is distributed by Republic Records and includes artists such as Lil Wayne and Mystikal among others. Koncz continued - “We are happy. We reviewed both proposals (Top Rank and Williams) last Monday and felt in an overall picture the Top Rank proposal was the best choice” pointing out that Arum “has been good to Manny.” Arum himself told BoxingScene/The Standard that “we have the rest of this year plus two more years. The minimum we’ll have is five fights.”

They already did it for Tyson/Lewis breh...

HBO did the commentary for that fight...

The cable companies are a hurdle for this fight...I know Showtime was tight because it felt more like an HBO event and they were just there but that's not something that can't be negotiated better this time around...Again this would be the richest prizefight in boxing history...There is more than enough money to be made for both cable companies so this isn't some insurmountable hurdle like Bob and Floyd's relationship...
Those negotiations between HBO and Showtime for the Lewis/Tyson fight were contentious as hell and took over a year to hammer out. And that was before the war between the networks had heated up to the point it is at right now.

Breh, that shyt is not happening, Showtime invested way too much money (200 million) in Floyd to share any revenue with a competitor even if it is going to be a ridiculous amount of money.

Showtime's game plan when they gave Floyd that deal was to 1) Put Floyd Mayweather in a ring. 2) Have him fight a boxer with a super-loyal, global following. 3) Watch the pay-per-view numbers climb.

Now way they are sharing any revenue with HBO. That rivalry is even deeper than the feud between Mayweather and Top Rank
You are correct my dude but you are overlooking the problem which is Floyd currently doesn't anyone to fight they can sell...Ghost and Maidana fights were weak PPV sales wise...

Its not stretch to say Showtime would probably make more money off Pacquiao/Mayweather than any other opponent available for Floyd right now...were talking about a fight that can potentially still do 3+ million in PPV...

Gtfo with this bullshyt...:stopitslime:

You know damn right Floyd has already tried to negotiate twice...

First time around your boy Pacquiao turned down the fight over random drug testing using every excuse in the book to duck the testing including I'm scared of needles which was downright comical...

Second time around your boy Pacquiao publically claimed he would fight for free to make this fight but turned down $40 million as soon as Floyd pulled his card...Lets also not forget Bob said a cut from November wasn't healed in May and he needed to build a new stadium for this fight which he still hasn't drawn up blueprints for...lol

Its all Floyd's fault though...

First time around Pac wouldn't agree to unlimited random Blood withdrawals less than 24 days to the fight.. Floyd would only agree to unlimited blood withdrawals 14 days to the fight.. The fight didn't happen because of a 10 day window.. Nevermind that though because the fight really didn't happen because Floyd was being a bytch demanding unlimited random blood withdrawals in the first place.. Was he really that terrified of the little fella? :skip:

In the 2nd negotiations(2011)where in the fukk did you ever hear Pac say he would fight for free.. The fight didn't happen because after Pac agreed to all of Floyds testing demands, Floyd announced that he wouldn't accept any less than 100% back end revenue.. offered pAc a $40 million take it or leave it deal..WHICH ISNT NEGOTIATING. . Pac made that in 2 fights easy.m

Where you're getting the fight for free stuff from is last year when Pac called Floyd out again the bytch Floyd said Pac only wanted to fight him because he needed him for money to settle tax issues... Pac responded by saying he'd fight FLOYD for free if Floyd agreed to do the same and all the proceeds could go to charity...

Best get your facts straight before addressing me on this subject lil nikka

Im sorry u gotta hear this breh, but Pac really had control of this entire situation this year and in 2015. Pac could have been a free agent . he could have set his own terms to a Floyd fight in 2015 or maybe even forced Bob Arum to negotiate for the Megafight before 2014 ends with the Mayweather, Haymon and Golden Boy.

This nikka Pacquiao didn't even wait to see how shyt plays out, This nikka reupped and it is May 2014 !!!!!!!!!!!

he knew that there was problem negotiating for the mega fight between Floyd, Top Rank and Golden Boy (whoever fault it was). By him re upping, it shows that Pac only has marginal interest in the fight with Floyd and there is some form of strong loyalty to Bob Arum

See I am not even one of those people immediately jumping to the "Pac is ducking Floyd" line because honestly that is some bullshyt that only gets used by stans. I have given up the ghost on the whole Floyd/Pac fight because there are reasons this fight won't happen that have more with personal animosity on both sides than it will ever have to do with the sport of boxing. Now if only the constant back and forth that always comes up whenever there is a post about Floyd or Manny could be contained in its own thread so I wouldn't have to waste time scrolling past the same regurgitated arguments and accusations to get to posts that I do care about.

Now personally I just would have preferred Pac become a free agent so that he could make fights with fighters regardless of promotional ties.
So we will just have to sit back and hope the Arum/Oscar reconciliation results in some new opponents for Pac.
I can dig what you're saying and thats fair to want that from Pac.. But what kills me is the hypocrisy, that Pac is wrong for resigning with his team dealing with HBO/TR, But Floyd isn't when he only fights GB and only fights on Showtime.. nikkas acting like Floyd is doing what Cotto is doing, going every where and fighting anyone whe Floyd is fighting out the same handful of ww at GB.. Only thing Floyd has going for him as far as that is the fact that he can compete at the higher jmw as well as 147 so that opens his options a bit

A cutoff completely defeats the purpose of random testing you fukking retard...:smh: @ you and your ilk still not grasping the point of random drug testing...Pacquiao NOW all of a sudden is cool with it though...:stopitslime:

And this is what I was referring to the second time around in 2011...I was wrong he didn't say free, he said less to make the fight happen...:stopitslime:

Manny Pacquiao Agrees to Take Less Money Than Mayweather to Make Fight Happen | Bleacher Report

When Floyd pulled Pacs hoe card and offered him less he again wanted 50/50...

A cuttoff defeats the whole purpose yet Floyd offered a 14 day cuttoff. :sas2:

Pac was cool with the testing way back in 2011.. and as soon as that happened Floyd said he couldn't accept less than 100% revenue

They offered Floyd 55/45 split with the winner getting the 55... Floyd wouldn't agree..

Pac did agree to take a smaller cut.. Floyd still wouldn't agree to anything less than 100% revenue

Details on Manny's Contract Extension

As reported on Tuesday, eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao signed a contract extension with Top Rank until the end of 2016. Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, as well as Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz, discussed the deal with BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard.

Koncz said Pacquiao signed an extension “that will take us to the end of 2016” but added that the terms and financial conditions of the contract are confidential. The adviser had met with Williams and negotiated the terms of the MP Promotions partnership during his last visit to Los Angeles.

He said the contract extension means “we can do some long range planning, it means that we are going to be able to make multi-fight deals with venues like the Venetian so I think its going to enhance everybody’s ability to maximize the amount of money that could be brought in.”The astute promoter said the deal was significant “particularly now that in November we will be starting off this venture to bring pay-per-view to China and we are really well on our way to instituting it. That could mean a very huge revenue source that could even surpass pay-per-view revenue in the United States.” “The partnership among Manny, Top Rank, MP Promotions and HBO has been a wonderful one for all parties and for the public and its great that it will continue for the years to come.”Indications are that Pacquiao will fight until at least the 2016 presidential elections when the incumbent Sarangani province congressman is expected to seek a seat in the Senate.

Thats an asinine offer hence why it was declined...

Why the fukk would Floyd or any intelligent boxer ever agree to that?

Boxing is arguably the most corrupt sport in the world...Putting your payday in the hands of the judges is only something a complete fukking idiot would do...
