Great first chapter for a supernatural horror. Will Yattara grow to love those kids or is he simply going to nature them to eat them?

Genuinely interested to learn that Yuri Muratov is the connection that leads him to learn the truth about his father. The plan seems to be for Yuri to be gathering allies and intel within the government while Leo will be in the academy curious how they will communicate. I am curious how they will communicate.

Also, Leo meeting the little girl that his father saved before he died. Very interesting. :lupe:

The big information drop is that the Horned ones are much stronger than the non-horned ones. The other guys saying how they used to be like John. Leon really brainwashed them, dear god.

If we assume the family is based on doing what is based on what is good for humanity. The women are definitely being used to breed so that the population doesn't die. Then, if they are a guy, they get to experiment to be turned into a hybrid. If they are a girl they repeat the purpose as with their mothers. This manga is really getting more fukked up by the chapter.

An award-winning Fantasy Josei Romance manga. Had a slow start, but picks up in the 2nd volume. Where politics plays a decent factor with some nice twists. How Nina has developed so far has been really good so far.

Nina's meeting with the former king took quite an interesting turn. Where she gets exposed at not being Alisha. We get to see he was testing her, but her desire to protect Azure was pure as she genuinely cares about him. After all, he is the sole person who knows her as Nina. The situation is very complicated as Galgada would want to expand and invade Fortna. The former King mentions that Alisha has that power. Her power to protect Fortna. Her relationship with Azure takes an interesting turn when it revealed that Azure is in the same situation as her. He is a replacement for noble blood. It makes it so she wants to cherish and protect him.

943D4DE2-F2A9-475A-83D8-3F22922212AE.jpg

An interesting turn that the Queen was more so a Red Herring. Her dislike of Azure was nothing more than for him to understand where he belongs. Ironically, if she knew he was not of noble blood, there would be less tension in her. She simply wants it to be clear that her son is next in line, as simple as that. The one seeking out to kill Azure is actually the King himself. It is easily shown that the King is rotten. He killed his actually son accidentally for the dumbest reason and had Azure replace him. The former king has trained Azure to the textbook and is seen as more capable of the current king. That inferiority is what drives him to get rid of Azure.

I love this moment for Nina as she steadies her resolves. Her confidence doubts the King's suspicion of Alisha being replaced, but used her position's capacity to protect Azure. Protecting Azure comes at a price as she ventures off to Galgada all by herself. In which we see that the man whom she married herself is the target of assignation attempts. Azure learning the hard way that not even Nina believed he could call off the marriage. Which in all honestly is realistic out of her.

Talk about bringing the heat in a return chapter. The revelations of this chapter :ohlawd:

It's Tserriednich isn't it? Kinda looks like the younger Issac Netero from the training chapters, has a natural affinity for nen, and would make for the most twisted option possible...That would be a crazy formidable enemy even for Ging and Kurapika.

Damn I actually popped off for this Frieren chapter :blessed:

Lots to unpack here. First man Stark is in a rough sport. The fact he was moving after that first blow really speaks to his abilities as a warrior. But it is not good.

Finn giving Will the full out, let's push him to his absolute limits. Of course, he is aware of Mercedes or whoever was inside of Will, so I assume he knows what is the limits for Will. Plus, he is always around.

I guess in one scope of good news, Emma is holding on for dear life. The traitor situation is very concerning because if words gets out, it could be a bloodbath. While Will is right, their friends are among that are looking into the situation and can help each other.

Looks like this is a full perspective on Yuna's perspective as she goes back in time. While she is trying to replace her mother in the preset, but can't help but feel she isn't doing enough. Just being with her might give her that clue. Although having to say goodbye to her again is rather cruel.

I feel like there is a connection between Roue's right eye & the devil eye of the prince which gets mentioned at the end of the chapter. Still is a part of Roue still with the prince?

As Taki receives an early loss before qualifying for nations, Nishida makes a rare great quote. You can have all the talent or your work ethic can be beyond anyone's else's. It all matters what you do when it is your time to shine. Taki needs to accept what it means to be an athlete. How he bounces back will be key.

E6D9B92E-F03E-4960-B876-49F30B1881E0.jpg

There is a great moment here between Natsu & Taki as they discuss Taki's goal. It is not surprising for him to lose heart right after his defeat. Natsu opens up and mentions whether her goals are over what she is capable of. What she basically mentions that it is understandable to how reasonable goals like improving your smashes. But lofty long-term goals can help you keep your motivation and drive up. It kind of really gave Taki a sense that Natsu is not some super athlete with all the confidence in the world.

A2552162-9E47-4BE4-9044-000596AEA91E.jpg

Ironically, coming off that conversation, she mentions of keeping boundaries. After all, guys & girls need their spaces as she is a guess. From Natsu's POV it makes sense as she is a guess and just being suddenly close to Taki can be awkward. From Taki's POV of having lofty goals as his feelings for Natsu, this is an example in the romance sense. The issue is Taki thinking this is more than her being courteous. Which is one issue Taki has in general.

The ironic thing about how Hina's feelings for Taki keep popping up is that the way she is building up the courage to talk to him is similar how it is with Taki with Natsu. Each has their confidence issue. One of Taki's biggest straight is how he can push forward and keep a healthy mindset about his own feelings while caring for the other person. Ironically, Hina is doing the same to herself. Though there is more romance tension between Taki & Natsu then there is between Hina & Taki where it feels like a ticking time bomb about Hina's feelings for Taki.

Honestly, Prince Sett might have had a rough first impression then Azure. He doesn't set out to meet Nina, and he comes across as a spoiled a$$hole. As Nina learns that she is merely a candidate, not next in line to be Queen of Galgada. She sees the looks on the other girls and they are miserable. But to top it all off, Sett toys with Nina and her determination.

All Nina recalls in a dream how it was the first time she took the name Alisha. While this is a harder situation, there isn't any reason she should cower and give up after all she has been through. One really nice moment is when she meets up with Anne and becomes her friend. But to really said that when Anne was getting harassed, she comes to her defense. Of course, with Sett around, he is willing to even strike his sword at Nina even though mentioning she will live if immediately attended to. Though Nina doesn't back down despite what happened. Which is quite remarkable.

However, Nina is able to make big steps in terms of gathering supporters. She does this because she sees how the guard captain is making the other women miserable with his harassment of them. So she decides to trick him into assaulting a princess since they are Sett's belongings and considering how high he values Sett's belongings. Luckily, she learns self-defense and gets hims locked up. Which in turn gathers the interest of Sett even more. Mentioning he will allow his presence near him. Which means she is slowly getting closer to becoming the future Queen.

A big step is the fact that Nina will soon be able to meet Sett's family as they travel up to his homeland. He continues to ridicule Nina and her devotion, but obviously, her resolve to protect Azure can't be understated. The fact he just goes to force a kiss on her proves he is the spoiled one. The volume ends in a cliffhanger in two ways. First is that Nina's carriage, much like the real Alisha's carriage, falls down. Luckily for Nina, she survives for now, but she is isolated. Also, the news of Nina leaving caused great frustration to Azure as he becomes the next King of Fortuna. Clearly a lot has changed since Nina left for Galgada.

I'm reading Red Storm again...I really enjoy the world it builds. There are only a handful of manga that I've gone back to re-read multiple times. Red Storm, Vagabond, Vagrant Soldier Ares, and Worst are the most recent.

One notable thing in the early part of this volume is of Natsu and her confidence. Her living with Taki isn't something she has fully processed. Even more so the fact the mention that she looked said after she and Taki went their separate ways during the fireworks festival. The mention from Nagisa why she is sad. Clearly she wanted to spend more time with Taki even if she wasn't aware of it at the time. But even more she asks Taki when she is asleep if him and Hina are going out. Since it appears that Taki lied. More and more, Natsu is being characterized from being this incredible senpai who is Taki's ideal to a character that has her own insecurities when it comes to romance and basketball. The latter is evident in her conversation with Nagisa as they discuss their senpais leaving the team after nationals.

Also, Karen's introduction in this volume as it is revealed she in Haryu's girlfriend. As they are childhood friends where they have had each others backs growing up. Haryu was the rock that Karen needed, but Karen was an ideal similar to how Natsu is that ideal for Taki.

Karen is the perfect person for Taki to talk to. Haryu's girlfriend and Natsu's friend means she is the best person to go to for advice. Even though Haryu lost to Hydou, the mention of how it feels to see someone try their best. As it shows that Haryu motivates Karen as well, Taki can relate when it comes to Natsu. Though her big advice on not to overthink things because you yourself can be your worst enemy. As the volume ends though Natsu loses the deceive game and Hina looks like she is about to reveal her feelings at last.

Hina's confession is a moment that is executed well because of how well it catches Taiki off guard. Taiki never assumed that she would have feelings for him and when she confesses it messes with him a bit. Many times it is a troupe that even after a female confesses, the protagonist is too dense to realize it. Despite Taiki being dense regarding Hina's feelings, it avoids this pitfall. Hina's remark that only think of me as someone who loves you rather than her friend. That statement implies she would rather confess and risk their friendship then regret and stay silent.

SPOILER_DB39F818-FF61-4DC3-89F9-164B1573B8BF.jpg

4AD3EC05-35D2-4062-9636-8AE5EE7832B6.jpg

Hina is still aware of Taiki's feelings for Natsu, so she won't be bitter about. It is a nice way to actually create a love triangle theme without creating unnecessary melodrama. As Natsu has lost the big game, the person she goes to for support is Taiki. Ever since the festival, Natsu has had the sad and tense feeling about her and losing the game only magnified that.

Just being with Taiki relaxed her in many ways and Nagisa points how she seems happier. Even more so them just talking the silly things out really eased the tension. It's more so a realization that our doubts aren't as big of a deal then me think they are.

704DA112-4602-463A-8154-FBC7F22921A3.jpg

It is also interesting how Hina's confession/feelings affects both Natsu & Kyo. For Natsu while she doesn't know that Hina confessed, it is obvious to her that Hina has feelings for Taiki. As with her conversation with her mom about the drama about the character that leads on the guy. Natsu has an interesting doubt about her being an unfair person. Natsu's dedication to basketball is not one to take lightly, but at the same time her feelings for Taiki are becoming to be more apparent.

Meanwhile, for Kyo he was in the same situation Hina was in with his crush having a boyfriend and Taiki absolutely likes Natsu first. Him mentioning the courage Hina has is not to be taken lightly. To announce your feelings for someone who has their own number 1 takes a lot of courage. As Kyo mentions how impressive Hina is, at the same time he empathizes as this is a ticking time bomb of pain for her in the near future.

Sett is able to make it just to save Nina thanks to Niena. Though he does get notably wounded by the tiger. Despite resisting, Nina does try to patch him before they move back to the castle to visit Sett's family. Nina doesn't exactly leave the best first impression, but the King changes his mind with regard who is next in line. Essentially, Galgada seeks to obtain Fortna and which Prince does that will inherit the crown. The concerning bit is of Nina's position. More than likely, she isn't in a position to choose, but rather they view her as a tool.

As Nina learns of the news, she roams around the castle, which is her first mistake. As Prince Yor who resides in the Black Wing, invites Nina, but essentially kidnaps her and losses his temper fast. The crazy thing is that he was even willing to cut off her leg as a source of intimidation, which is even beyond what Sett did. Slowly, bit by bit, we have seen Sett growing a more interest in Nina. The expressive Nina seems to have had an effect on him. Much to the point that he said that she is his and the other can't have him.

Though the biggest thing in this volume was learning about Sett's past. Despite Prince Tout wanting to reveal his version of Sett's past to her, she wishes to hear that from Sett himself. If you hope to learn the real truth, you would want to learn it from the man himself. He was raised in the Temple of the Blood and while being the son of the King, his mother was a priestess. It is made evident from Sett that she didn't want that child. More than likely, the King raped her. Even worse was his upbringing by the priest of the temple. Sometimes he was treated well and other times he was treated awfully. It left a scar until they saved him from the priest. It makes more sense why Sett is so detached, voided of any emotion.

Nina got very touched by Sett's past. For the first time, it feels like Nina has genuinely connected with Sett. Making her situation more complicated. They finally receive word that Azure is now the king of Fortna. Even more so, it is shown that Azure is with the messengers. Very likely both Azure & Sett will meet shortly.

Holy fukk at this Akane-banashi chapter :damn: :damn: :damn:

Holy shyt. Just the shock that that Shiguma has throat cancer is big in its own right. You just think they are going to be without a master a little bit. Which could lead Maikeru to be the leader of them for the time being.

Instead, Issho visits Shiguma and mentions to Akane that he is dismantling the Shiguma school with each of them getting a new master/guardian. The fact that Akane will be under Issho is interesting enough as a twist. But she will be alongside Kaisei.

Despite the harsh words that were used, you get the sense Issho is in very much sorrow. For Shiguma he was like a brother to him. However, he is trying to separate Shiguma as a person and him a Rakugo entertainer. At this point, Shiguma's only concern is recovering from throat cancer. While it is hard for Akane to accept having a different master, this is something she must accept.

NOOOOOO Ayame. She fell into her habit. It makes things awkward because she is the one who asked him out. I figured Shota was the one that did. Makes me feel really bad for Kyo considering his regrets of being too slow.

You know at first I thought this was ridiculous how the guys were getting in Taiki's way. Thinking about she is the girl all of these guys have wanted to go out with. Then seeing an underclassman ends up dating the amount of jealously was expected. Tho Nagisa giving them a test of reality was great.

Very curious who gave Taiki directions to where he got trapped in the shed. I got a feeling Natsu will get directed to that same shed so they can get some alone time.

To get Diana's first words at that moment just makes this fall really tragic. Angvall still protected the villagers along with Julian & Diana. It feels like that given the situation she was under that this outcome is one she would be thrilled to have. Curious where this goes next.

One thing I find really interesting is that the fake family of the Forgers feels closer to a real family than the Desmond's. The idea of Donovan being a mind reader is interesting, but that would imply Loid is screwed from his first meeting with him. It can't be mind reading, but it is something significant.

Great chapter. From the perspective of Asa it makes sense to prioritize killing the twins before harvesting the 9th generation of Yozakura. At the same time, it makes sense to put priority on protecting the twins. Poor Shinzo though needing to be left behind and catching up.

Curious what Kyo's plans are regarding Momo? He mentions it is his duty.

I loved Tokiyuki talking back to Sasaki Doyo. After all, his actions for Mima were to serve his own purpose and not one a parent would do.

I am curious more about Yorshige's roots, but Shizuku finally making the decision that Tokiyuki wants. He doesn't rely on the gods he only relies on people. Losing Shizuku would be too much for him. Curious how Mima is going to fit with the whole gang.

Sakamoto Days Chapter 185

They really turned a prison into a small city. Count on this series to give every character a weapon of some uniqueness from the others. Tenkyu makes for a very interesting addition to the cast. Plenty of things point that Atri is waiting for Tenkyu and her being future allies of X. Makes me concerned about how much Shin can learn from her.

Ichi the Witch Chapter 6

I do like how Ichi's refusals were much due to his hunters instinct. He could see Uroro was fine when he first met because he knew the female witches couldn't touch him. Now that sense of security is gone, now he wants revenge. Though Ichi could tell his actions and his words don't match.

There clearly is more to the history of humanity vs Majiaks that we can learn. Poor Kugumi getting volunteered and unable to say a thing before Ichi gets assigned his next mission.

Shinobi Undercover Chapter 5

Nozaki having the most success at building relationships is ironic. The fact that Hibari would go to him for advice. As expected, the traitor ninja will try to eliminate the Ninjas before going after Aoi. I hope Hibari gets a chance to shine despite fighting with one arm.

Haryu brings up an interesting point about Taiki. He is absolutely committed, as Haryu said. His work ethic shouldn't be questioned. Essentially, Taiki looks at working on his weaknesses as his goal. However, Taiki doesn't note of his strengths and basically is not willing to give himself credit. We have seen in the past both Natsu & Haryu have a confidence to them that Taiki lacks. Taiki needs to understand his strengths and get that confidence.

Taiki needs to stand still and be able to evaluate himself properly. That is a big ingredient that he is missing.

Actually, the conversation between Natsu & Nagisa is very telling what she thinks of Taiki. It's clear that Nagisa is a good and at the same time, protective friend. Natsu constantly seeing Taiki at practice is honestly what made her feel comfortable living in the Inomata house. Even adding to that point, Taiki's work ethic inspired her. From wanting to get there before him & seeing him willing to be there even after defeat like she did.

The practice match against Yusa was a big deal for Taiki. After he was the one who eliminated him in the last tourney. Hopefully, this can give him more confidence that Haryu was mentioning. Also, Haryu losing to Yusa is interesting considering Hydou eliminated Yusa and since Taiki got one over Yusa, then in his mind that would put him last even though Taiki didn't beat him yet in a practice match. Though you can attribute to that he might understand Taiki's habits more than Taiki does. At the very least, the face drawn of Haryu really emphasizes that he thought it was unacceptable, and it is time to go back to the drawing board.
