It's a dark fantasy series. It hooks you early on since you see how the MC suffers. Failing to protect the one that he was meant to protect his whole life. He is able to communicate with his future self and show him how he failed. And he gives him the power to change that. It starts the journey for him to wipe out all the dragon and the dragon monarchs. Very good start I would say.

You start with what seems a very wholesome relationship between Ragna and Leo. Seeing how Ragna is always there for Leo and Leo is always there to protect Ragna. But in the future Leo dies perhaps to Ragna's ineptitude. These dreams and visions seem to be warnings because Ragna loses everything. Dude finally has the power to save the ones he cares about . I am assuming Crimson learns a way to allow Ragna all his power.

But man him having to say bye to Leo def hurt Leo a lot. Of course ideally he would love to go hunting these dragons with Leo, but he knows too well what fate awaits her if he lets her comes along. I honestly feel like the shock for Leo is too much considering all of a sudden Ragna's power was out of reach for her. And she is just left behind .Crimson is secretly measuring Ragna's current strength and little surprise that it is off the charts.This makes for a really interesting pairing of leads.

I need new manga to get hype for tho Dr. Stone got too redundant for me to maintain interest, every else I was reading done ended or the authors got lost in the sauce (tower of god giving a million characters backstory no one asked for or cared about, jobless reincarnation leaning too much into the slice of life aspect for my taste, etc.)

Jjk/CSM the only major series I bother keeping up with and JJK is limping to the finish line and falling down the ranks I might pick up Hell's Paradise but in looking for some shyt that hasn't already gotten the anime stamp of approval

Ragna Crimson Vol 2

This shyt getting real interesting now.

We seen how strong Ragna is now. But this volume really showcased how manipulative, devious, smart and calculating Crimson is. He is willing to use anyone for his own benefit. By utilizing those dragon hunters he was able to take out a 3 seat without any real effort spent by either him or Ragna. Just Ragna infusing the bullets with Ragna's silverine. Crimson is not one to be fukked with. Crimson didn't care about saving the captive woman since saving them holds no benefit to them. That is a great show he only cares about the results for him.

Ragna's biggest thing is fear of losing the people he is most dear to, which was highlighted in volume 1. Crimson does have a point that keeping Leo safe would help his fears, but Ragna knows that forcing her like that would just only upset her.

We are introduced to the Winged Monarch. She like the others is bringing about the orders of God and eliminating these people. Her nature seems ever so kind, but regardless she is always meant to execute her orders. It does bring about the question who is this God. Is he the head of dragon or could that be a sham. She about to get the King to invite all the refugees to come to the capital so they can kill them in one fell swoop. With Ragna and Crimson heading to the capital now it is interested what plans these two have.

Exactly

I'm not sure about Power because she was a fiend, the rules only applied to straight up devils or hybrids. When a fiend dies the devil comes back but the body and the memories they had are gone.


Also upon reread, that entire assassination arc is just as crazy as shibuya I actually think I like it more because it didn't have any of the typical shounen type matchups that buya had, everyone was fighting everyone

the main difference is jjk was already alluding to what would occur, CSM just threw us into complete chaos and gave us info in the midst of it

Sword devil is an exact copy of his last form. So instead of Makima dying and then Nayuta being a different version of the same devil; this is a carbon copy.

But I think the easiest explanation is that we haven't really seen Hybrids DIE. We've seen Denji chopped in half and come back; Quanxi got her head chopped off and showed up in the next Arc to fight again. So, it's possible that hybrids just come back from damn near anything.

Agreed on Power though. She and Denji made a contract.

Ragna Crimson Vol 3

So we get a flashback of the old future where Ragna is defeated by the dragons. But in an interesting twist of fate Artemisia offers to turn him into a dragon and well we are left on that point. Since the future Ragna makes contact with the present how is he able to do it Crimson continues with his calculations are introduced to 2 of his subordinates Golem and Chimera. I'm assuming Chimera has skills realtive to a Chimera and Golem is more mysterious being able to change bodies. But his voice stays the same tho. Crimson goes over his plan regarding killing Artemisia and well it is well thought of. Artemisia's power is controling time, but she can only stop or reproduce time. (same as rewinding basically)

Of course ruining Crimson's plan, Ragna not only runs into Artesmisia, but also engages her in fight. Crimson isn't completely pissed as this will either showcase of Ragna has what it takes or him losing allows him to be more dependent on him. By taking out Nebulim the only one left was Borgius. Tho Golem took care of him rather easier then you would have expected. Nebulim is barely able to survive Ragna's attack, but it gives Artemisia even time to pull of the ultimate time cheat code. Reversing time of the entire world. Ending at a cliffhanger with her cornering Ragna in a helpless state of stopped time. Sheeeesh.

We also get to see Leo again. And well she is humbled for the first time in her life. She understands Ragna is too powerful for her so she continues her journey different from him. As sad it is for her to be separated from him, it was the only way for Ragna to protect her.

Yeah, they got the best regeneration powers since Claymore main villains. I can't picture anything topping Chainsaw Man getting sent into orbit, tearing his heart out, and fastballing it back to Earth so it can regenerate back to Chainsaw Man...I assume that'll tie in with the multiple chainsaw men we've seen, but I'm not entirely sure how.

that was possibly the craziest comeback i've ever seen in a series no way anyone anywhere predicts that happens

2nd place was Reze using her own head as a grenade, it exploding and turning into her full bomb form on the 2nd floor of the warehouse
