WFH is still available but not as common as it was during the pandemic. Last few roles I interviewed for a few were hybrid but most were remote. I think I would have landed a role sooner had I said I was available for hybrid roles.

I'm a Recruiter and go in 4x a week. We most likely aren't hiring anybody because people will wait until their bonus at the end of the year to leave or for us to open roles. So I literally commute an hour to and from, to send emails.

Even when we had roles open a few months ago, I was interviewing people for different departments that had more remote days, so it was all on Zoom. So I would commute to have to book conference rooms for 2 interviews (30 minutes each) and maybe send 10 emails, while hearing my co workers talk about their kids for the 80th time, or go to the bathoom and hear a cac grunting and moaning to take a shyt.

Company will likely drop the hammer on this WFH shĩt but for now it’s still the Wild West even though a bunch of folks are coming in more and more.

A lot of wacky things affecting my dept happened over the last year so we’ve been flying under the radar and probably 15% of the dept is coming in 3 days a week.

I pop in 3-4 days to do stealth networking meetings lol and make sure I’m on floors where no one knows me. Just got back from a week in Zurich and didn’t say a damn thing to anyone and still got 2 days worth of work done despite being 6 hours ahead. Didn’t even bother to update my Slack time zone to make it appear I was on this side of the planet.

Real talk I can’t see a scenario where anyone trying to make “real” moves can tolerate 4-5 days in an office unless they literally have their own office at work and don’t deal with anyone

But that’s damn near impossible in the era of flex seating. There’s people I work with that I haven’t seen since march 2020 and I could care less about seeing them.

It's been like 15 years since it happened but after getting a taste of the remote life, going back in to the office was a no go for me even though I had my own office. Some days I'd have my door closed all day and coming to see me was invite only for a bit but just going to the break room or the bathroom and having to interact with people was driving me crazy.

Fumble recovery over here. My job made us 100% remote and gave me a raise. Life is decent:ehh:.

Edit: Dem youngins gave my team and I a bonus for our hard work during FYE24. (I'm in finance)

2nd Edit: Thinking about double dipping by working another 100% WFH gig. My homegirl works in HR for the 2nd job and they need bodies without too much effort. Just a thought.:wow:

Companies that offer wfh will simply get the best talent
Yup. It's these people who are miserable/resentful that want to bring people into the office. If they want to get in the way of hiring the better talent, then they're the weakest link in the company's success.

They're basically mad at the talent and know they can't call their own shots the same. So if they got to come in, everybody got to come in. Who the fukk wants to hire someone like that?

These people need to realize that even though they're not the best at what they do, they do have the power to call their own shot, especially if it's skilled labor.

But WFH is still happening. Hell, some offices been, vacant for so long, they converting it to housing.
Exactly. They tell us to adapt but immediately shift and pull the fire alarm when they need to adapt. fukk them. Wfh is what should be the norm. fukk gas, fukk traffic, and fukk forced friendly interactions. We can do team outings and team meetings and shyt once a week or less. Don't need to be in there every day dealing with car accidents and racist police and other random shyt the world has to offer.

The new level of wfh is going red on teams/outlook. then people think you are offline. Cuz I swear when I'm on green early, I end up doing like 3 4 hours of random ish that wasn't on my agenda!
