Man of Steel is the most underrated superhero movie of all time.

Well?

  • It is, it is a great movie.

  • Nope, it sucks (I only watched it once)

Everytime this thread pops up I think to myself "how the hell didn't I post in there already," forgetting there was about 10 other threads after release discussing the same thing. @LÍQUIDO you definitely made an earlier one of these :heh:

I will never in my life understand the vitriol towards this movie. I loved it. To this day I'm still :dead: how MOS was hands down THE BEST representation of super powers on screen and nikkas still found ways to complain about it. Made Thor look pathetic and exposed how lackluster Marvels approach to superpowers had been. And I still see posts akin to "too much cgi, give me live action stunts" when critiquing MOS and BvS. :mjlol::camby:

Yeah it was opening the discussion for people to explain how it was “trash”

How is Man of Steel "Trash"?

All I got was:
full

Even the action was “TERRIBLE” to some.

While Superman and Zod were very powerful, their fight was kinda boring to me. How many times can we see them throw each other thru walls/buildings and find it exciting? It just gets blah after awhile.

Probably the reason why I enjoyed the action scenes in this one is Superman feels like Superman unlike Superman Returns where he seemed so damn weak. I love that scene where Superman punches the big Kryptonian in Smallville and he lands on a trainyard and everything explodes.

I never got the complaints about Superman destroying too much stuff in the city either, I mean Superman's been destroying Metropolis for 80 years lol.

Symbolism in this movie was jaw dropping insane.

They had something beautiful with MoS, it was different from the more lighthearted and less serious MCU films, then the rest of the DCEU killed it (despite me liking BvS). Should have just done MoS 2. Zack Snyder got in his own way after MoS as well, he is partially to blame too.

Something bad happened in between MoS and the rest of the DCEU.

Watching that video now.

Everything about MoS is very well done. Even the trailers gave me goosebumps

The action was great, the cinematics excellent. The story, characters and brooding superman. Straight garbage.

Brooding Superman, I'll give you that. Even then I'd debate it, if I had the time.

Story was garbage? Relative to what? It was slightly above average for a comic book/superhero movie relative to its peers, aside from Nolan Batman. MCU films for all their fun have shallow plots. DCEU films like BvS, on the other hand over complicates things.

Zod and the Kryptonians were better villains than anything the MCU and DCEU have done since. Maybe Thanos will be better if they can pull him off.

They covered that in the original superman zod fight,

somehow in man of the steel the city is just magically empty lmao, you see superman saving citizens and he took the battle to a different location when he realized it was getting out of hand

you can't excuse bad writing
plus the man of steel was a rip off of agent smith v.s. neo

superman don't even use freeze breath in both movies lmao

They turned heat vision into cyclops optic blast lmao, them movies are trash

Good lawd these are terrible effects...Technology is amazing

None of that is true...... but I respect your opinion Beloved.

This villain thing is biggest piece of crock ever introduced in this argument against Marvel.

Like other than get more lines of dialogue and do a 15-20 monologue or WWE Raw opening promo.

Not really sure what more do people want?

Most if not all of the Marvel villains atleast been a legit threat to the hero’s

Most if not all of the Marvel villains atleast defeated or beat the hero’s in their initial meet up and forced the hero’s to go back and upgrade and come back stronger.

Most if not all of the Marvel villains have atleast had a final battle with the hero’s that pushed them to their limits.

Most if not all of the Marvel villains caused a shyt load of destruction or killed a lot of people on their path to accomplish whatever goal they were trying to achieve.
