it's definitely a set up for something... But how long has the pod been open? That might negate the "mental block" theory.

Who knows. She came to earth as an adult. She was already Kryptonian in attitude She wasnt raised from an infant like clark. Some contraditory information in DC comics. The supergirl comic says shes the strongest person on earth even if she doesnt know it but Superman seems to think he'd bust her shyt. Strength and fighting ability are 2 different things i guess

I admit I don't know much about supergirl, I prefer Wonder Woman. But seeing the direction they went, I wonder how long ago the Fortress of Solitude ship docked on earth? She would be a adult, but was she genetically engineered and therefor programmed or did her arrival predate the genetic engineering? The movie hinted that they sent the outposts out first, then started genetic engineering. So she might not have the Krypton programming thingy that Zod had. And given Hollywoods penchant for wussing female characters out... But then again they did Faora right. :ohh:

That is just a stupid statement. This is Superman...this is what the movie Superman is and will be for the foreseeable future. If you got a problem with that then stick to reading the comics or go watch one of the old Donner movies but don't use "this isn't Superman" as the basis for a negative review of the film.

But it's not Superman and the fact that I can point out my qualms without you having any REAL counterpoint to it other than the fact that you really liked it and you don't like comic purists disliking it kinda proves it.

In fact Iron Man and Batman Begins kinda invalidate your post because they differ and were still excellent films farrrrrrrrrrr better than Man of Steel and they took liberties with the source material as well

In fact if you go back the past 30 pages or so everyone in some way shape or form agrees that the story was meh but the action was great. Half of a movie it it's story.

That means more or less the movie was 50% trash. But I'll be generous and say it was 6/10 since rocking the boat means you're a hater.

Hell let's be even MORE generous and say a movie is part plot, part presentation, part execution/action. That would still mean the movie is like 7.5/10

Kinda average compared to movies of THIS era (I give a fukk about the Donnner films aside from nostalgia) that have done a better job.

Supergirl is an outcast. She is what they call a Worldkiller like Doomsday in terms of her potential. Shes got all kind of alien dna in her not to mention Her pops had her orbiting the sun for 20 years. She is not a normal Kryptonian. Shes a freak. She came to earth when her attitudes were already set in stone.

She could be done justice on film.

I absolutely loved the story and thought they did better with zod than comics or film ever has before. And they made lois not a pathetic ditz.

I think its the dialogue you have a problem with, not the story. I thought alot of the communication was non-verbal. Most of what you needed to know was done with visuals and not tangents. shyt was hot, you're opinions are not.

You loved that Lois had a fairly easy to construct catalog of Clark Kent performing superhuman feats before he became Superman, thus defeating the idea of a secret identity, the very cornerstone of most superhero films and comic book characters in general, and an idea that has been broken down by Hollywood in almost every movie since Spiderman?

There is a major plot flaw here that (in typical Nolan fashion) attempts realism and creates an even bigger plot flaw

I don't understand why people want Luthor back as the central villain. He's had his time to shine. Brainiac and Darkseid haven't. It's time we see villains who haven't been adapted yet. If they introduce Luthor, it should only be a side character/villain.

as much as the comic book zealots will hem and haw, THIS.

zod has really only been done halfway well in the books once, ever: geoff + donner's run. otherwise he's been 100% trash.

and to those complaining about the comics... at the end of the day, it's THEIR version of superman. not YOURS. they dont have to adhere to any book you read, and you dont have to watch it.

Yes, because the idea that nobody could ever figure it out, especially professional investigators who were on the case, would ever beable to figure it out, is a bit passé. And it worked.

You dont have to like it, but its clear you're nitpicking here breh.
