Like someone said before, this movie would have been great if it was'nt Superman

i dont know breh...superman is always at his best in the actual comics and thats exactly what the movie was. a superman comic. being in a post batman/ironman world isnt necessarily a good thing you know. they arent "stories" to begin with, theyre comics

They make a Lex movie easy to do with all the damage Superman caused. Have Lex come in gettin rich off rebuilding Metropolis but pissed at superman for destroying so many of his businesses. Lex is a capitalist at the end of the day. His story looks like gold for the silver screen

Early Life

Lex Luthor was born and raised in the poverty stricken area of Metropolis known as Suicide Slum, the child of abusive parents, with a fierce desire to better himself. As a teenager, young Lex engineered the deaths of his parents in order to profit from a large life insurance policy he had taken out in their names, and went on to found his own company LexCorp.

Honestly at this point can we just assume spoilers?

I appreciated them showing the story of KRYPTON...which outside of kandor is poorly told. The pain of jor-el and Laura sending their child away knowing death was imminent is something they don't really talk about or hadn't talked about enough in DC.

I have absolutely no gripes with this film with maybe one exception. I've always felt the character of Jonathan kent was poorly used. DC killed him a couple years ago in like two panels of comics :mindblown: it was Brainiac who did it with no followup that really pissed me off. I was glad however they showed that the death of Jonathan Kent was a life-altering moment for Superman. That was a big deal. It's interesting that this film did a better job of showing importance of Jonathan Kent then any comic I've ever read did.

I agree not enough time was spent on showing the pain of Jor-El and Lara losing their only son. Jor-El's action hero stint should have been sacrificed instead.

Pa Kent's death to me was weak, they should have gone with him passing due an heart attack. This plays perfectly in showing that despite all his powers, Clark can not control everything, especially a very internal human occurrence

I think you might have slightly misinterpreted me

I thought they did a good job about the sending of kal el, better than any comic story. I DO agree with your suggestion though, that showing jor-el as a desperate scentist and family man is more compelling than a fighter. It still worked though, and well.

Regarding pa kent, i liked how they used his death, again, better than comic storylines....but your suggetion is actually better too:ld:

I have female friends who didnt want to see this because they dont like damsel-in-distress bimbo lois lane...i'm glad i will explain to them that she is actually the smartest person in the movie, and is far from helpless. This will actually help the movie draw as the next weeks progress.

That is just a stupid statement. This is Superman...this is what the movie Superman is and will be for the foreseeable future. If you got a problem with that then stick to reading the comics or go watch one of the old Donner movies but don't use "this isn't Superman" as the basis for a negative review of the film.
