That's Clark Kent breh. They searched high and low to find this dude, he actually has a soul. Henry Cavill doesn't have one.

Routh did nothing wrong man. Jerry Bruckheimer would have gotten it right.

:to:

You never seen Henry behind the scenes or in Man from UNCLE, or his Superman at the end of Justice League if don't think he can't do the whole charming thing

Cavill got the look and acting chops

I came across this flying video of Returns and MOS and I definitely prefer Singer’s style. Snyder was just too messy with the aesthetic around Superman. Nothing had impact cause it was all intense.

I haven't seen Justice League yet, but 2 movies in and and the jury is still out. Henry Cavill looks like Mitt Romney in a cape. His eyes betray his smile, he doesn't have
the boy scout hero feel as Superman or as Clark. The innocence isn't there when I watch him.

It was there when Brandon Routh was on screen, saving the plane out of the sky, and landing it safely in the baseball stadium.

Pure.

It's been a long time since Superman has been a "boy scout" and I would argue that him being seen as that mostly comes from Christopher Reeves' Superman movies. The character isn't all smiles he definitely got a bit of edge to him. He's more of a farm boy raised right than clean cut boy scout.

I never read or heard anything about Henry looking bad as Superman lol Mitt Romney, bruh?

We see Supes save people in MOS BVS and Justice League

I kind of liked Brandon Routh, but Henry Cavill is so much better than him - plus he just looks like he would beat the dogshyt out of him as well.

Superman is supposed to be hard as fukk (pause) more than he's supposed to be super likeable.

I can't take Brandon's Superman seriously anymore after I've seen him get his ass beat by a pedo and Kumar :yeshrug:

He's one of the most powerful entities in DC Comics, the only room for shortcomings is in his personality. He should be a bit dorky, a bit boyish. He's been raised in relative social isolation on a farm, he's been different his entire life. He's Clark Kent first, he's only Superman when he has to be.

Cavill was none of that, he was a brutish. . .weapon.

He can't be all edge all the time and that's what they've tried to turn him into. You don't have to work that hard to give him an edge when it's balanced on the other end with that sincere farm boy, wholesomeness. It's as simple as going from a smile to a clenched jaw and a fixed gaze. Superman doesn't need to be screaming at the sky going Super Saiyan. It isn't a transformation.

As for Romney, that's just the impression Cavill's Superman gives me, that there's something sinister lurking beneath him and not in an 'edgy' way.

I never heard him referred to as that.

He never got his fair shot at the role. The blame goes up top to DC/WB. With the right story, (a true reboot) he had all the tools to shine in the role, even with how bad 'Returns' is, it's there.

In no way was he to blame for Returns. You can't find a critic's review from 2006 that says that.

He should still be Supes, that's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it.

He's the better Superman, not that brooding bullshyt that was Man of Steel and the DCU would be in a much better position than it is today.

Despite all this, DC can still right their wrong and give him the 'S' back.

Dead beat Dad Supes can get all the way the fukk outta here too. He got his ass whipped by Kumar for gods sake and looks fruity as fukk and a stalker. He didnt even have a fight scene or a fight at all. He was the absolute worst Supes ever portrayed on film. He added nothing to the character.

Watch those movies again. He wasn't on edge all the time. People get the impression that he was moody the whole time. They gave him more human reactions than making him come off as perfect, imo. Just that made him more interesting and gave him depth. People often call Superman boring because they see him as a boy scout and perfect, but when they made him or human than alien people complain and claim they want the boring boy scout
