I’m not saying to react like attack someone, I mean to get away from the person who’s acting up. Nobody wants to be bothered with this stuff. All the time I try to avoid someone who just acts weird on the subways. Nothing will change until they actually do something like our metal detectors or try to prevent someone from bringing weapons on a public area like the subway.
This entire scenario is exactly why a lot of people genuinely avoid public transportation like others in here have said. You can be extra vigilant, check all the exits in advance, carry a weapon, wait for security adapt better solutions, etc and so on...

but you have to actively rationalize dealing with that kind of shyt on a regular basis.

And its plainly not normal or fair to ask of people just trying to get home or to work. The change is people growing more and more resistant to the idea of public transportation even when it improves because the immediate perception to many is that its unsafe. Even if this guy didn't have a gun, that's still a train car full of people that has to deal with stuff that's just dysfunctional af.

That’s on whoever was elected. They’re the ones responsible for not fixing the problem. Same with the MTA. Somebody gotta be stealing money if they don’t care about public safety that much is this keeps happening.

which election? every election? :mjlol: people been getting yeeted onto the tracks and scuffed up waiting for their stops for decades. these are not new problems - but the folks willing to rationalize the absurdity of it all are becoming the minority finally

Its time to have armed security undercover or not on every single subway train ride in the city with authority to use lethal force to stop violent criminals

It’s like the 80’s & 90’s again, the pandemic made everyone lose their minds, literally. Again, the MTA needs metal detectors.

Why people would want to live in this city if they're not making 500K+ is beyond me. You gotta deal with overcrowding, insanely expensive, lots of mentally ill people, people with NY temper and even worse accents, rats bigger than cats, toxic people all over the place and it attracts a lot of toxic people from all over the country/world. If you're making $$, you can avoid a lot of this but if you're a middle class person and lower, the place is a shyt hole.

Y'all exaggerate too much.

Besides being expensive 90% of the things you listed are not daily occurences.

I go to the gym, work, back home, and run around the city at times. I don't commute during rush hour so I don't have to deal with those crowds. Rarely do I encounter crazy people and I have enough street smarts to keep it moving if something doesn't look right. I don't see rats running around everywhere. The vast majority of people aren't bothering you.

Most of the people believing these things about NY don't even live here. The late 80's and early 90's NY was rough. The city is a breeze compared to then.

A million people ride the subway everyday but a few news stories got people thinking these things happen constantly when they don't.

If everyone in NYC had to make 500k it would be a ghost town. You don't need to be mega rich to enjoy NY.

Obuad? This nicca wasn't even Spanish...this nicca was Arab. The narrative that ole girl was repping for "her people" is dead.

This bytch needs to be found and do prison time. There's ZERO justification for what she did.

Remember, she STABBED this brother when the ARAB dude was the one that pulled his blade.

F*ck that bytch and anybody supporting her.

She didn't escalate the situation. The shyt was on 10 by the time they squared up. nikkas get killed scrapping everyday.
Matter of fact, if she is that nikkas girl he needs to put a ring on her finger ASAP.
A fist vs fist fight is fair. Now a knife comes into play where flesh and wounds could be opened thats escalation and once it does happen anyone can escalate it as far as they feel to defend their life if it is threatened.

This man was fukked either way if the boys pulled up and he was just stabbed he and would've gone to jail too for carrying the weapon but at least he would've been alive

Y'all aint serious

The breh was pretending to be a cop and making statements such "fukk you, fukk your kind and fukk you race" and "if you move I'll beat you up"

The situation was ALREADY escalated and HOT.
that could easily be a fist fight and a keep it moving. But also if someone shows a blade and the other person still charges then :manny:

You can't start a fight with a stranger for no reason and demand a fair one. You can't start a fight with a random stranger and claim self defense when the stranger pulls a weapon to defend himself.
