You guys killing me with this cap crippling nonsense and trying to justify how losing a top 10 player who just been putting up his best seasons for cap space and draft picks. The draft is a damn crap shoot it gets us no closer to winning a title . Melo plus reasonable talent is a top team in the east as we just saw a season ago , but this tank and draft pick nonsense is :camby: . I'm starting to think people didn't watch during the bad years when we routinely seranaded other players with MVP chants hoping to draw then here . This is a star league and losing a star for uncertainty is horrible , have a plan b if melo decides to leave but money better not be the issued when people were saying it's just money resign Lin bull . Melo and a decent team in the east is our best bet

Players far superior to Melo have taken less to win they realize one player making all that money restricts whatt you can do to the rest of the team and unless you have Lebron most players arnet good enough to overcome that

Melos a great scorer with flaws and hasnt proven he cna be the main guy on a chmpionshp team if you want to cripple the cap for that type of player that we differ on how to build a basketball team

Oh well i guess well hit rock bottom next year get a high pick then have a shtitload of cap space in 2015 sounds ok to me :manny: I think Phil realizes Melos a great scorer but has flaws and isnt the ideal person to build around so either take a paycut or take a hike

If not for Phil here wed have some puppet whod cowtow to Melo and give him the max crippling our flexiblity for the next 5 years.

'Cause max players are gonna come to NY for the triangle, Phil, and Fisher. :mjlol:

Reading all of these reports is making me numb to the situation. At this point I don't care what his decision will be.

Mission accomplished!

'Cause Lj proved to be better than 'Melo when he went to the finals playing 2 .500 teams to get there and with better talent than 'Melo has ever played with. :mjlol:

To be fair those Knicks of the 00's traded a lot of draft picks, that's why they didn't really get talent in the draft. The few times they kept their pick, you got some decent players, particularly Gallo; Lee, and Ariza whom are all quality starters. Not too mention good role players like Nate and Wilson, the Knicks of last decade tried to do too many quick fixes by retarded signings and moving draft picks.

decent players aren't star players at all .they are trade bait for players like Melo as they should be . Bottom line money shouldn't be the reason we let a top 5-10 player go , if he leaves we have options but we'd just be trying to get another top player

Those players too a pay cut in a tax free state and to play together . Phil isn't offering Melo the top other 2 free Agents to play with .

Like Phil said if Melo re-sign that's a good look. If he doesn't we still gonna make out good. But having Melo already on the roster makes us a more attractive for free agents 015

And anybody clamoring for Lemarcus Aldridge as your #1 over Melo I can't even take serious....
Well be ok if Melo lives not good . We don't have the worse team anyway to think we'd get a high draft pick

No max players will come if they believe they have a chance to contend for championships or if the Knicks are willing to pay them the most money. If Melo is making the max then that probably isn't possible.

:ufdup:There is so much wrong with this post I'm not even sure where to begin, but:

1. Lebron James is better than Carmelo Anthony at literally everything in the game of Basketball. He defends, rebounds, and distributes the ball better. In his best scoring season he was able to average more points than Anthony has in his entire career. This is not a slight against Carmelo at worst he is currently one of the 15 best players in Basketball, but it is what it. :manny:

2. The Bulls team the Heat beat in 2011 won 61 games in the regular season, the Celtics 2012 went 39-27 in a strike shortened season, the Pacers in 2013 won 52, and won 54 games in 2014. Tell me which of these teams was the .500 team you were referring to?

3. Finally even though I would prefer to keep Carmelo him making more money than Lebron James simply does not make sense in anyway, because as we are seeing now if Lebron can not lead his team to victory by himself then no one in the NBA can.

P.S. fukk the Heat.

What's next years draft class looking like?

Maybe I should pay attention to Kentucky's roster because its going to be a LONG season in NY :snoop:

:mindblown: How will we not have one of the worst teams if Melo leaves. He had his best statistical season ever and according to advanced stats was responsible for adding 10 additional victories in a season where we only won 37 games. Whose going to pick up his scoring slack Shumpert :stopitslime:, Smith:mjlol:, Hardaway:patrice:.

this is kinda what messed us up last time
melo didnt want to wait a year to sign with us in free agency so we ended giving up all those players and picks for him to come mid season, and it was pretty much for nothing. we didnt win a playoff game

if homie really want to stay, he'll he'll sign with us long term and take a small paycut so theres room for others
im hoping this is just melos way of putting pressure on phil and them TO make moves NOW or to atleast exhaust every possible transaction out there. kobe and more recently wade did similar things in the past

phil seems pretty laid back and has this :yeshrug: attitude about the whole situation
can very easily backfire. that shyt only works with coaching

I don't even care anymore honestly. I don't get whats so much more intriguing about Chicago but whatever. I think we'll be okay soon no matter what decision Melo makes
