I don't think anyone is anti-draft. :dwillhuh:

But suddenly there is this weird narrative in this thread that "you can get the same kind of talent in later picks that you can get in the lottery.

Which just isn't true.

It just doesn't seem like you guys are familiar with how the nba works. Like, you love to watch games and root for the Knicks... but you think everything that happens before the game is played... is a mystery.

Knicks arent tanking. Get out with that shyt.

They're going to be focused, and not let those easy games get by like last year.

I'd hate to neg a fellow Knicks brethren, but I will if this tanking nonsense goes any further.

THIS IS NEW YORK, WE DON'T TANK!!!!

So since Scott Layden and Isaiah Thomas made terrible decisions the current Knicks front office should never attempt to secure a high draft pick. :heh::mindblown::rudy:
if we suck and get a high pick sure im against tanking which is no guarantee of a top 1 or 2 picks as Philly showed us . Cleveland was closer to the playoffs than the sixers and got it
1) It's Jason Smith.

Beyond that... most of those plaers... murry/beno/shannon/metta/smith/acy/early - these guys are fringe players that won't even account for a single win share.

Last year we had one of the best defensive centers in the game, and one fo the best pick and roll finishers in the game. This year we have sam dalembert. That is a massive drop off. I don't think the improvement from felton to calderon makes up for that, especially when calderon is maybe the only point guard in the league that makes us WORSE defensively than we were with felton. To me, that's less talent. I'm happy we moved chandler, and I'm happy we got calderon. I like Acy as an effort guy, I like Larkin but he hasn't shown a thing in the L yet. But we're talking about losing a perennial DPOY candidate, that's a loss, even if it's a loss that I support.

Again, I'm aware that this team isnt' going to tank. I know they're not gonna do 20 wins, phil won't stand for it, and the team is too good to do 20 wins or mail it in.

i accidentally erased the last part of your quote but you keep making arguments no one is making . No one said we are anti greatness or anti draft just antitank . You act As if tanking is a sure fire way to be great . By the way chandler was c
I agree with basically all of this since when did losing in the first or second round become an acceptable goal? This roster as currently constructed is not close to being a real contender for an NBA title and really that is all I care about. If Knicks fans have to watch a season or two of bad basketball so be it.
fukk I'm having trouble highlighting things on my iPhone , but no one is saying that. All we want is to just make the playoffs and everything else is gravy . I want to make the playoffs and then build off that , besides the easyt is more open next year than you are acting like in the bold part , we have no idea how good this team will be without seeing them play . I think healthy jr makes for a big difference than the jr who started out last year . And if we disappoint then we have cap space

Why is this dude being so negative?
Negative about what? I'm being honest. You stay looking at this team with rose-colored glasses. Knicks fans can be fukking delusional, like The Knicks are some upper echelon organization where things always go their way. What player on this roster other than Melo is going to put this team over the hump?

So it's delusional to think this team will find a way to win those games where they had their heads completely up their ass? OK

And their is no dominant team in the East, with the exception of the Cavs depending on the Love deal. This year the East is as balanced as its been in years, so why can't the Knicks make some noise. You are too pessimistic.

Then wtf have The Knicks have been doing thiese past 15 years? :dahell:

It sure wasn't making deep playoff runs. :usure: That mentality is the reason The Knicks have been one the biggest laughing stocks in The NBA.

How are they going to find a way win those games when you have less legit talent and less experience on this roster? How do some of y'all arrive to that conclusion? Derrek Fisher(a new coach)? the triangle(new system)? Phil Jackson doing jedi mind tricks? Melo somehow turning into LeBron James?

The Knicks did tank, and ended up with Gallo, and Jordan Hill. oh don't forget Channing Frye and Mike Sweetney

Tanking isn't an art. It's luck. Look at how it worked out for the Lakers this year.

Any team with Melo isn't getting a top 5 pick

This year's roster is better than last year's.

So you believe the loss of Tyson Chandler exceeds the importance of the loss of Raymond Felton? Cause that's the only way I can see the argument that this team has less legit talent. Jose Calderon and Samuel Dalembert aren't experienced? Explain to us where you're coming from with this

Nah, those Knicks teams didn't tank well enough because those drafts had legit stars. I blame dumb ass Donnie Walsh.
