Like it's been said many a time - this is the problem when it comes to sports, far too many folk replace logic, reason and common sense with distilled, unsullied, and idealized versions of players and teams from the past, that a proper discussion will never take place. You can't convince someone that the sky is blue if they're wearing rose-colored glasses.

Those are facts breh, a lot of heresy on the net regarding some old time players. There is no way Jordan is by far a better athlete than LaVine and Wiggins, those guys are FREAKS as well as the guys before that like LeBron/T-Mac/VC/Kobe/Wade. Jordan didn't run no 4.3 and he didn't have a 48 inch vert but the most powerful marketing machine in sports will have you believing shyt like that.

:wow:

Kareem > KD
Magic > Curry
Cooper < Draymond
Scott > Klay

Cavs vs Lakers would be a better matchup. Both stacked at every position

The funniest thing is that Riley assembled a team that is capable of matching up with golden state just a few years ago :mindblown:
Jerry West created the Lakers dynasty as GM. They mad cause Jerry stay winning and now with Durant, he about to outshine Rileys Miami run too.

I've been trying to tell people.

The only concrete matchups are the results right now.

That does not mean, last year's version of either team. It's the teams that are playing right now.

If GS beats the Cavs, then they're better. If GS sweeps the Cavs and continues to blow them out, then they are much better.

Who would be the winner of this year's GS team vs last year's Cavs team? Nobody knows and we'll never know. That only exists in people's minds and in discussion, that's why it's easy for people to pull shyt out of their ass, introduce hypotheticals and constraints when they argue. The end of the day those discussions fall into one of two categories: it's either you're talking about stuff that happened or what ifs.

The game that exists tomorrow will be played for real. The only thing that matters.

This is @Jplaya2023 in a nutshell, he really asked "Who gonna keep Kareem off the boards" because he's taking Milwaukee Kareem and placing him onto the Lakers, not realizing that adjusted for pace Kareem was actually a terrible rebounder from 1980-89, he averaged 7.2rpg playing at a faster league wide pace.
