How the fukk are the Lakers going to keep up with Warriors when the 3 point barrage happens? :pachaha:

These guys barely averaged 1 made 3 per game. :gucci:It's literally impossible for them to win, much less sweep! :mjlol:

lol who's guarding magic? who's guarding cap? oh wait draymon

who's guarding worthy.

Lakers would run them out the gym. Warriors would have to make on upwards of 30+ 3s to stay in the game.
You're saying who's guarding Magic like he's some prolific scoring threat. He can get his usual 18 ppg and Kareem could average 30 and you could even get 25 ppg from worthy (which he's never averaged in his career or playoffs ever). But KD is getting 35, Steph is getting 30, Klay is getting 15-20, Draymond is getting 15 and the Warriors bench is getting another 20-30.

That Lakers team would get washed. They have no three point shooters to keep up with onslaught KD, Steph, and Klay will bring. I think Magic and Worthy averaged like 30% from 3. If you don't have shooters to keep up with them (which no team in NBA history has had) then what the fukk are you going to do?

Give up 51 to Sleepy Floyd

86-87 Sleepy was 19ppg 38% 3pt (2 threes/game) 48% fg

But they sweep the team with a DPOY, 2 league MVPs with 5 scoring titles between them? :mjlol:
One of which came with MAKING 400 threes. Lakers team didn't ATTEMPT 400 threes in '87

Because even past his peak and the Bulls had Scottie and MJ on him and he still gave em 19/12/8 :gucci:
Klay can't guard Magic :mjlol:
That's cool, that doesn't mean Klay isn't a more than capable defender to put on him. :heh:

Magic wasn't this prolific scorer. Klay doesn't have to lock him down for the Dubs to win. Also, him having a good series against Scottie and MJ doesn't mean anything, why do we pretend like these retired players never had a bad game and never had a bad series? :dahell:

Why do y'all act like if you put Klay on Magic he's getting 30 points and 15 dimes dumped on his head every game? :mjlol:

Magic had some low moments against worse defenders than Scottie, MJ, and Klay. :shaq2:

No offense, but this is a foolish statement.

So you gonna tell me it doesnt matter the distance when defending?
I swear you dudes, always try to qualify shyt. The original statement made was "if GSW is making 3's" and I just stated that goes for any team, then he followed it up with barage and distance. Of course distance makes a difference as far as spacing, but I feel as though you dudes just blindly state shyt as if these older teams will not consult the scouting report and tendencies. The only advantage modern teams have on older teams is now they get away with Carry and Travel, older teams just got away with traveling

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Do you really think Jordan would be the best athlete 2-guard in today's NBA "by far"? :jbhmm:

There's these two guys in Minnesota... :hubie:

He would be, LaVine lacks Jordan's strength & speed and Wiggins doesn't have his body control or speed in the open court.

Nobody said Magic was gonna average 30 :mjlol: I'm saying that Klay cannot legit guard that man for a whole series. I'm not saying Dubs lose automatically, I'm saying Klay struggles on Magic

no team, now or then, is going to make adjustments to defend 30+ feet out from the basket. They'll live with the results b/c the chances are lower the further you are from the basket. Bball 101.

And yes, statements have to be qualified. Quantity of shots taken and distance are key with Golden State.

I mean, name me ONE team from the 80's who plays like Golden State. Or name me one team EVER in the history of basketball.

Bottom line: the Lakers are NOT sweeping the Warriors.

Different era, different game.

:yeshrug:

If Durant played in the 80s they'd force his ass to gain 50 pounds and stay in the paint. Because 7 footers got no business shooting deep in the 80s.
If James Worthy played in 2017 they'd push his midrange game out deep.

Much as I like to troll the old school as being better than the new school, honestly it's just really hard to compare. Context is everything.

BTW, you ever watch highlights of Byron Scott? He was pretty fast with the ball.

@CHICAGO here's yet another in my series of defending MJ

The first step here is just otherworldly -

There isn't a 6'6" player in the league with that type of quickness right now, nevermind the finishing ability, just the first step alone.

It's a shame I had to go to the archives :francis:
