I think everyone has their own selfish reasons for not wanting Don back. Before his meltdown he was the most influential and powerful man at the agency and his absence has allowed for the other partners, most noticeably Joan and Cutler to steal some of that power. If they really wanted, they could have figured out a way to deal with buying him out, it was the thought of Don working for their competition that really changed their mind.

Yup. I'm thinking they actually didn't expect him to agree to those terms, either. They figured he'd reject it and quit, leaving that non-compete in tact.

At any rate, fukk Joan :pacspit:

She doesn't do shyt :heh:

but Betty isn't emotionally approachable and even when she's around she relates to Bobby at arms length. That's why she feels her kids don't love her, because she can't reciprocate properly. The problem is she isn't self aware enough to see how she projects her frustration at her own emotional shortcomings onto them.
shes just immature and selfish...she doesnt realize kids do that kinda shyt

Roger shytting all over Cutler was one of the goat Mad Men moments :wow:

Don Draper will rise again :blessed: notice how everyone went out to greet him and most of them were happy he was back. He IS the agency. He is 'that guy'. He was willing to listen to Ginsberg, Stan and the other guys. Then Peggy shyts on him :pacspit:
same shyt i was saying. the only people that weren't enamored with him were the higher ups. Peggy, Joan, Bert, Lou, Jim. Everybody else was googly eyed because of the utmost respect they have towards him. Even Dawn is mad that he's back ..shame

I wouldn't say that she's mad, she's not his secretary anymore, but he's still treating her like it.

She's heading up personnel now, has lots of shyt to handle and he's giving her his coat and asking for coffee.

saw it mentioned how the episode was about how Don and Betty's big day's never turned out how they imagined them to be.
Betty's day of showing she's a great mother ruined by her kid hustling her lunch and Don's big return ended up with him just waiting in limbo all day.

they had Don waiting from around half 9 in the morning till just after 7 in the evening then gave him that bullshyt deal.

:salute:Roger
Joan's reaction when Don told her she was looking well :mjlol:

random but, i really like Joan's voice for some reason.
add's to her all round sexyness to me.

Betty looking good in her nightwear. :shaq:

i thought that too, she was covered all the way up and with a child cuddled up to her but i was like :steviej:

Farmers daughter too...some sexual tension between her and Betty ?
talk of her "udders" and Betty volunteering to drink the milk

My nikka Rog :salute:

He straight up used Don as weaponized nuclear grade ether to let Cutler know that the agency is still his, and had him looking dumb when he was saying creative doesn't matter that much right after saying he was speaking for Ted.

The meeting and the lead up to it were pretty telling about the state of the office, though. For a guy that's not supposed to be there at all, there was literally nobody to stop this guy from walking in and doing whatever he wanted.

Then, everyone but the lower end of the creative team was pissed to see him.

After thinking about it, that whole thing with Bobby and Betty was meant to just mirror Don coming back. Much like Bobby, he was selfish and fukked up. He was willing to admit his wrongdoings and fix the problem, but just like Betty, most of the partners were just being vindictive. Joan was pissed about Don telling Jaguar to fukk off (which was the right call, since that guy was going to keep being terrible to work with since he was used to getting ridiculously placated by them). Bert is just old. Jim just wants Don gone as payback for what he did to Ted (even though he bailed Ted out by giving him his spot in California). Roger just wanted him to learn his lesson, and come back.

Really, the only reason I could see Don accepting those terms is either to link up with Roger to snatch their agency back, or if part of the offer from the other agency required him to make a clean break of all connections to SC&P (and we all know they weren't going to buy him out of his partnership stake), or fukk them over somehow and hand over info on their accounts, or bring accounts with him. That seems a little outlandish, though.

Also, Peggy is gunning for that Lou Avery fukk You hall of fame spot. I get that she's mad at Don for fukking with Ted and some supposed crime against her career progression, but that " we didn't miss you" shyt was mad childish. It's like she's supposed to be the anti-Don. She does some of the same type shyt as him, but absolutely none of it gets a pass because she's so bytchy.

I can't wait until Don pulls a power move on her or Lou in the near future......non of those rules stated he couldn't troll his way back into power.

Don is too good at his job to be working for Lou Avery, and Don knows it. Avery is too arrogant to quit as soon as Don puts pressure on him, so I expect him to self destruct..... 50/50 when Lou is fired they are going to have to call security to escort him out.
