According you you, only Lupe stans like the album, why is it even close when Kendrick is WAY more popular and has way more fans?

I didn't realize how many nerds was on here until the Tetsuo thread. That's the only reason Tetsuo got that many votes. Very impressive in numbers you guys are on here :leon:

And you know to yourself Kendrick is WAY more popular and has WAY more fans. Don't live in this warped Coli world, Golden. He's a MUCH bigger rap star, SELLS MUCH more albums, is a better rapper and has way more fans. Ya'll gonna be aight tho. Don't worry bout it.

You're repeating what I just said fam. I'm actually shocked at the results.

I know this album will be a hit and success, and he deserves it. Like I've always said on here, I'm a fan of both of them. I'm not sure what the point of you saying the obvious (outside of the better rapper comment) to me though

TPAB is album of the year so far. It's gonna be hard for any rap artist's album to top it this year. If we get albums near the quality of it, or even better, this will be the best year hip hop has had in a long time.

But when he wasn't super lyrical on his last two albums the Lupe haters crucified him for it.

T & Y was made in sense of proving the haters wrong saying he fell off lyrically. And to prove em wrong he dropped his most lyrical album yet,

If people could handle it then ppl wouldn't be complaining about it being too complex.

The bias between Lupe and Kendrick is ridiculous.

Y'all don't even realize how "preachy" Kendrick gets on TPAB.., Yet When Lupe did it on "f & l 2" (which was lyrically better than TPAB besides the corny love songs) Y'all HATED him for it..
Part of the reason is because Lasers and F&L 2 were both weak musically.

Those 2 being his most lackluster projects opened up the gate for other criticisms that otherwise woulda never been a problem

I think F&L2 is decent musically. If somebody like J. Cole dropped that album, people would eat it up. Lupe's history is his worst enemy though, after how he started off, any less than that got hammered. I like F&L2 outside of a few tracks on there that were clearly Atlantic songs

The Booth can be a ridiculous place when big albums drop. You got the stans lined up on either side "It's a classic" "It's :trash:"

:patrice:

Sometimes you just want to read an unbiased review of the album without all the stan bullshyt.
This is an album where I was going to cop the physical no matter what, but :salute:for being one of the few posters on here whose reputation precedes him. 9 times out of ten - if you say some shyt is good - I'm gonna cop the physical and once its in the whip its :wow:

We knew that when the Joey Badass album sold twice as much but the thread only had 1/4 the pages.

True.

But nikkaz is trying to revise history with shyt like "Food & Liquor wasn't that good" or "The Cool was average" when a lot of these new nikkaz have blatantly stated and shown that those albums were influential on them. :snoop:

It's what happens when you lose that media support and hype machine. They tried to do the same shyt with Nas outside of Illmatic

There's a lot about Lupe's album to discuss though. Thread had more discussion than Drake's IYRTITL thread also.

shyt's 2 months old and nikkas still finding new shyt about that album

I'm not knocking Lupe's album - I like that album a lot breh. But some albums get discussed on here more than they should because of devoted fans. I think that Killah Priest album from a few years back was a perfect example of that phenomenon. That thread had more comments then the album probably had sales. :lolbron:

Mobb, the album is GREAT. No lie. A thoroughly entertaining and fulfilling listen from start to finish. I became a fan of Kendrick on GKMC and now I'm a big fan. I'm really impressed with his album making abilities. It's been a loooong time since hip hop has had a major mainstream talent that actually can rhyme AND make really good albums.

Definitely album of the year for me and better than any album I've heard within the last year or so. I sincerely believe that it's ridculous for anyone to even mention Tetsuo in the same sentence with this album.
