If you ain't got the time then there's no point, it needs to be broke down and explained with some detail, and examples, you don't show just 1 song to show why someone is a better lyricist anywhere, especially when Lupe has some good lyrical shyt too, it is going to be numerous examples of how he is a much better lyricist in every (or at least nearly) single area. You can ignore the thread or enter, your choice, when I have a moment will set it off and then anyone who wants to debate in there can do.

sounds like you just want attention. I'm trying to discover new dope music. I don't want to stroke your musical ego nikka. either up some music or kick rocks :ehh:

Nas is great but Lupe is on a completely different level lyrically, he's the GREATEST period. Technically, Nas might not even be top 5 bruh.

as of late i cant argue that. nas's body of work is still arguably the strongest.
only person I have close to nas honestly is Ghost but Lupe is rising up there and if he puts out a few more projects on this level hes top 3 easy.

F&L, The Cool, and Tetsuo are all at least 4.5 mic albums period. many don't have one and he has three, even despite the wackness that was lasers.

I don't want attention, why would I want attention when I just said what I wanted quick and then left. The people replying to me in droves seem to want my attention lol. I don't even want to derail the thread, what's the point in me posting K-Rino songs in a Lupe Fiasco album discussion thread? Wouldn't it be better in a proper comparison thread with in depth breakdowns, rather than derailing this thread?. I didn't even mention K-Rino in this thread, others did that, as usual, this was only ever about Lupe and his album.

The album is ok to me so far...I mean I loved the lupe that made food and liquor and the cool and I felt like he fell off a little after that.On this album he has returned to form but like some others saying it feels forced like he heard the criticism and turned it up to 11. Which is a problem lyrically because you can clearly see in his writing that hes trying to twist words on purpose to be overly complex.

I know half of yall in here have written a rap in your life and probably have had moments where you could have turned a simple statement into your own personal puzzle that wasnt hard for you to understand since you wrote it. This is the first problem starting off with this album and the main one. The other is having something to actually talk about besides just lyrically flexing the entire time. I mean its cool but music is a escape to most people and if you have a message it should be relatable from the jump not a project after you buy the album

Old songs like streets on fire was cool not just for lyricism but trying to find out what the streets actually personified. It could be looked at in the multitude of ways and still make sense, but it had something behind it. This album is just lupe trying to come off as overly complex for no reason at all. Remember what einstein said it takes a genius to make something simple. If you have to get complex when your explaining something than you really dont understand it that well. Dont get me wrong album def has some great lines and great moments but i can feel alot of gaps between those times

THIS!! I like the album... just don't feel it, don't think he does either

He gave y'all what you wanted tho and for the most part it seems like it worked reading through the post. Wouldn't be surprised if this was really his last album

How can you listen to this and say his heart wasn't in this project? Like he was lazy or something? Huh?

The cause
Not only is Little Death one of the smoothest Hip-Hop song I've heard in recent, but the concept of the poultry we savior, dying a terrible death for our daily consumption; maleficently brilliant:wow:

Song been on repeat for 2 days! .....dont know why but i feel like he describing a dinner date thru out the song ....

plus the DOOM lyric flip

Doom
Read the signs, no feeding the baboons
Seein as how they got your back bleeding from the stab wounds

Lupe
the facts shoves one back to a pattern of stab wounds
Swoon ridden goons consumed and driven mad soon
The attended years slowly fills with baboons

ehh not lazy.. maybe he's just exhausted with the rap game...keyword game we've all watched him get beat and battered by it. This album TO ME seems like he was in revenge/I got something to prove mode like it was for others more than for himself. Bars seemed rushed(a lot of flows on beat but not in the pocket) a lot of labyrinth bars like the breh I quoted said. The Production is dope and features are solid.. but idk I just don't FEEL IT. It's only me tho breh... I'm glad so many people love it tho, LUPE is dope overall and he needs the support
