nikkas is gonna believe what they wanna believe and have their own favorites at the end of the day. There's a difference between nikkas not liking him as much as me and nikkas saying stupid shyt like "He's not even top 50" though.

I agree. Hes very talented but I think you don't notice that when people do the over the top hyping that the knee jerk reaction from others who may not him as much is the exact opposite. That is why so much is classic or trash around here.

The album is more than good enough to speak for itself.

Form follows Function is one of his DEEPER songs I take it according to Whoopi stans :comeon:

First verse:

Whoopi again said:
Shout out to my nikkas, then (inaudible) to my inner demon that be creepin round my temple, ready to set me off like Vivica OR make me cross like a crucifixer OR the legs on a buddhist sitter... deep in thought. Thinkin as deep as the sea of salt.
:rudy:

Whoopi Fiasco said:
Are the windows still blocked up, let's see. Maybe see something we didn't see before, been in the stu (Studio) all day cooking food for thought, now out the soup dujour for you and yours might find sushi for ya soul.. we call that moving raw /<----"see?? like the dope game, moving raw? get it?? duurrr

:stop:

Fam, this is what Chuck D might call "Rhyming for the sake of riddling". Step your lyric game up if this is what you consider GOAT material :weirdo:

I love Lupe but I wasn't feeling The Cool at all.

Not even one song? Put You On Game, The Coolest, Intruder Alert and Streets On Fire all in my personal top 10 as far as Lupe songs go.

Posting a pic I uploaded as a joke doesn't make you any less of a mental midget Nagra. If anything it adds credence to my assumption.

That's just how I feel about the album but I feel you. I'ma send you a friend request on here. God willing we gonna revisit this F&L II being a classic discussion in a few years and see if it stood the test of time for you.

I'm assuming you aren't aware that Form Follows Function, like Dumb It Down, was made solely for the purpose of just rapping super lyrically, so I figured I'd let you know.

This.

nikkas can't even hide their hate long enough to not type up these ridiculous statements.

That's why most of these threads I just read with a :childplease: face and go on my way without commenting. nikkas talking about he doesn't have charisma, yet his concerts are great. All this, "he puts me to sleep" shyt. I've never fallen asleep to a Lupe song. :shaq2:

Like dog, you don't have to like him as much as me, but you don't have to make shyt up to prove why you don't like him.

you got the lyrics all fukked up for one, besides that he was saying he's coming for the throne whats the issue in them lyrics?

I don't have a problem with him coming for the throne but he sounds bored, :mjpls: plus the abstract nature of his rhymes aint' even dope. If you gonna pack your lyrics with metaphors at least try to make sure you don't put me to sleep

Lyrically, he's great, but he has not been in the game long enough to be considered top 10...one reason why people talk about BIG was that he was not in the game long enough...Ready 2 Die is Top 10 to me, but BIG wasn't around long enough to put him up against Scarface, Cube, Kool G. Rap, Pac, GFK, Rakim, etc...

its about consistency

I give credit where credit is due, so I'll admit that this post along with you calling him "Lucy Fitrashco" made me literally laugh out loud.

I wasn't that fukking fat. I was leaning forward so my cheeks got played by gravity.

:snoop:

Why do you Whoopi stans try to act like you're the only peeps that understand this bullshyt :shaq2:

I already pointed out that he's a troll, but he's a bad one in the sense that his shyt is a chore to listen to. nikkas see through that shyt B. :wtb:

Btw, check Prince Paul's catalog for somebody who can mock rap cliches and still sound dope doing it. :smugdraper:

:comeon:

I am 6'2, 195 pounds. At my heaviest I was 210. Excess weight can be lost. To combat being a fukking idiot might be an exercise in futility. Best wishes on that, though.

:pachaha:

Where is your man Eminem all time Sun? Top 3?

he's not in my top 10 either, there is a distinction being drawn here between top 10 all time and favourites

i listen more to lupe more than i do scarface at the moment doesn't mean he holds rank in the grand scheme of things, and he really doesn't have to, RIGHT NOW, he is the "nas/jay" of his generation, but of course we gotta be extra about it

These type of posts are bullshyt to me.

BIG had two fukking albums before passing and not even close to the mixtape/random song material and yet he's GOAT status unquestionably right? What the fukk else does Lupe have to do? Die?

Lupe is one album away from having just as many top quality albums as Jay-Z(Black Album, Reasonable Doubt, American Gangster and I'll give him Blueprint even though to me that album is overrated as fukk), has top tier quality mixtapes and he's not even in the top 10 yet? NOT EVEN TOP 10?

I remember when this perpetually confused mental midget Nagra tried to tell me Lupe isn't even in the top 25 back on SOHH and ended up looking like a fukking idiot when he told me who he thought was better. nikka was saying Lauryn Hill and Kanye West and all sorts of fukkery LOL. Haven't taken him seriously yet.

Let me tell you something, any rapper in MY top 10 has been in the game at a mainstream level LEAST 15 years and has had to have made their mark in the game. Lupe has been in it, what around 5 or 6? I don't use mixtapes as a criteria for a great rapper as good as they may be, because mixtapes are not bound by the same constrictions studio albums are. If Lupe is in your top 10 that's fine and I wouldn't argue that. But let's be honest there is a gap between quality albums and classics and in my opinion Lupe has one (The Cool). If you are talking critical reception and the consensus of a lot of people, Laser's has damaged this dudes reputation. Furthermore the lack of cognizance this dude has for what came before him is disturbing. How is this dude going to lie through his teeth saying 'Well I didn't really listen to Native Toungues' when he flubbed the lyrics to a Tribe track. Despite the fact his steez is almost based entirely off that vibe. Furthermore, Kanye West has a larger resume than Lupe and warrants more consideration (whether you agree or not) based off my criteria.

I am a Lupe fan but to put him ahead of genre changing pioneers off the strength of dominating a weak era, is a bit premature, in my opinion. His music as good as it is does not stand up to the established classics in the genre and as such has no place in my top 10. Top 25, sure but top 10, you gotta do more than that.

On a side note, I do really like what I've heard from Food and Liquor II.

I dont understand what in the hell the native tongues have to do with this thread nor do i think lupe actually grew up on them at all. even before the little issues they had he always said he grew up on Crucial Conflict, do or die,E.C. Illa, 8 ball Mjg , Nas, Jay, and too short. have he heard they music? probably but i doubt they had any major influence on his style especially going by his earlier material.
