As far as Versa goes, I'll never talk hip hop with this guy ever again. His opinions are so outside of anything that I've ever heard that I couldn't reasonably debate with him without thinking I'm talking to someone whose opinions can't possibly ever make sense to anyone I know (Lupe stans I know in real life included). Lupe FIASCO is really getting compared to Jay-Z right now? Is this happening? The Black Album, Reasonable Doubt and the Blueprint are better than every single Lupe album. F and L is on par with TBA though. American Gangster is on par with The Cool. Now you've gone and gotten disrespectful.

This dude should not be mentioned with Nas or a Jay-Z any time within the next 3 years unless he drops an album every year. Off pure talent? As good as anyone ever, but stop it with this shyt.

Food & Liquor II and Life is Good are both instant classics to me, yes.

Ya'll really think songs like ITAL, Strange Fruition, Lambo Angels, Unforgivable Youth, Around My Way, Put Em' Upand Audobon Ballroom will age poorly? They're not carried by the production like some of these nikkas The Booth loves who ain't talking about shyt. It's all about the lyrics and the themes and they will stand the test of time. Take it to the bank. Lupe said Food & Liquor Ii is the type of album that's a slow burn and gets better and better with every listen and he wasn't fronting about that at all.

And yes Lupe Fiasco is better than Jay-Z in every way, but a lot of people won't accept this until Lupe owns 4% of the Bulls, marries Rihanna and gets a Heineken endorsement. The only nikka I wanna hear about being better than Lupe at this point in time is Nas.

I cannot tell the future so I won't say. I REALLY like ITAL but it wouldn't be the first song I've loved on an album only for it to lose that appeal for me later. Maybe it wont, its a great song, but who knows.

You have to remember that while Lupe Fiasco is a talented artist not everyone likes him as much as you.

As a pure-spitter he's elite, as good as anyone ever. But there's more that goes into being considered a top 5 rapper all time. He lacks one of the key qualities at times--charisma. Though he puts on a good concert. But that's not really relevant. I was just caught off guard by that classic talk.

Lupe is in my top five....... On a better looking scale, I wont understand if he is not in anybodys top 20........ He has earned the right for top 5 discussion, but imo he has not cemented a legacy yet that will put him in everybodys top 10 like a nas, jay, or rakim....... Two things hurt Lu in goat discussion, he doesnt have many hits and classic songs amongst a general audience, and although the Lupe stans would maybe say otherwise, he is not a trailblazer in hip hop....... So with that said, I understand why opinions vary on him
