Ludacris' music has aged terribly and it's high time we acknowledge it

I’m not a fan of Luda at all but he is an above mediocre rapper. Not all but most of his beats were super garbage IMO so that’s why his songs seem so dated. Like no limit beats that were mostly trash to begin with. Aged like yogurt.

Busta made good music breh. He had a series of dope albums, plus he always made tracks on some real hip hop shyt outside of his singles.

Luda cared about being dope on the mic, but not about making grounded hip hop songs. Busta is well regarded and respected as a hip hop legend.

Luda also made good music and had a series of dope albums. And Luda also has songs that are really Hip Hop outside of the singles.

Luda also cared about making grounded Hip Hop songs. Luda is well regarded and respected as a Hip Hop legend as well. Again, Luda is the only MC who has held his own with Jay and Nas on the same song.

I don't know why people are making this great distinction for Busta. He and Luda are in the same class. You won't find people putting Luda or Busta albums in the same esteem as the classics. When classics are brought up or people list the best Hip Hop albums, their albums aren't going to be ranked that high and probably not even mentioned.

To take it further, people claim both of them fell off when they cut their hair.

What breh? There are tons of non classic albums that are still dope today.

Most albums aren't classic, but tons of hip hop albums are still dope listens and have aged well. I was about to start naming albums but realized there are way too many. Lol

Aged well is subjective. If it isn't a classic, it has an age on it. Whether or not it aged well is trivial at that point. Because if you listed albums, someone could easily point out albums that they didn't think aged well.

It sounds dated because he doesn't have a lot of spawns on the game like wayne, gucci, kanye, future etc.

One of these people is considered one of hip hops gatekeepers.

The other was in Fast and Furious.
Bustas first solo album is what we consider a "hood classic"....Didnt get mainstream accolades but everyone I know was waiting for it to drop and when it did it didnt disappoint...probably one of the best "dude leaves his crew and goes solo" albums ever.

And I think most would say his second album is a classic, even tho 18 tracks was a bit much, that shyt had some of the most iconic songs of a generation on it,and it came out only 1 year later.

Breh, how is Busta a gatekeeper. And then you reduce Luda to just being in Fast And Furious.

There are people who consider Back For The First Time and Word of Mouf as hood classics. Still, neither Busta or Luda have an albumnthat's a tried and true Hip Hop classic.

Having sound a likes doesn't mean your music isn't going to sound dated. Every artist you named have a lot of music that is dated even the music that is considered classic.

Boss,if they had a hip hop festival tomorrow, and the person introducing people to the stage said "One of the gatekeepers of this hip hop shyt",nobody would bat an eye.

He's one of the few living legends we have that are still visible and when he walks in a room with other rappers, even somebody like Luda,he is viewed in a different class.
Probably only jay, certain members of Wu,Scarface, nas and snoop are afforded that same level of hip hop reverence.

And I'm going to assume your not from NYC or the east coast in general, because I never heard ANYBODY call and of Luda albums classic, but that's more a regional thing

Your whole argument is regional. I don't think ANYONE would question either of them being Hip Hop legends or them even being revered.

Luda is a radio personality on steroids.

He's very witty lyrically....but not artistic...and low key childishly corny.

You never hear a serious or thought provoking or even a gritty real album.

Pen game is nice, but he not hungry and you can tell.

Guess you never heard this Luda song before if you think he never had any serious or thought provoking songs.

Luda was a great artist who knew his lane. However, that doesn't mean he wasn't versatile. He could make thought provoking songs as well as hard tracks. Check out his verse on the Made You Look remix. Not many rappers can outshine Nas on his own song and Luda did that.

Luda's a top 10 lyricist of the 2000s in my eyes. Don't know how anyone can deny his greatness.

Luda and Busta are in the same "space" where even when they were selling they were never the focal points of their region...

Busta was apart of the "golden age" so he will be awarded those bonus points as soon as he steps in the door..

Luda was never on my radar like that, but southern hospitality/move bytch/what's your fantasy have passed the classic threshold with ease...

And he has others in the chamber that would get a very responsive look regionally...

His name will get a mention for his hip hop accomplishments as well

He has to get that same leeway that Busta is given
