Ludacris' music has aged terribly and it's high time we acknowledge it

Koalabama and the Cosmos
The thing with Luda is that his content is like a time capsule. It reminds me of majority of the movies that came out in the 2000s. They all aged like shyt. Don't get me started with the comedies :francis:. Luda's issue is the following:

  • Beat selection (majority of the beats he used on those albums are hard to get through (the loud ass dated horns, the dated Neptunes sound, those fast bounce wit me tempo tracks, the fast sped samples, and other woes)
  • Luda could spit but he really wasn't saying shyt until the 3rd album and even then, it felt kinda forced
  • He became known as a gimmick and when he was on that "serious" wave, heads just wanted the dude to wear a oversized muscle suit and stfu
  • His acting career ended up overshadowing his rap career (once dude went Hollywood, it was never the same...a bunch of mixtapes and EPs never drew a dime)
  • He became "that rapper" (Now that I am old, I'm going to start showing these youngins I still got it)
Don't get me wrong, Luda is a dope rapper and one of the best to every done it...but lets keep it a buck, dude is the southern Busta Rhymes.

Although Busta could kind of be put in the same category, it was known that Busta cared about his status as an emcee also.

Luda cared about his status as an MC too. How do some of you come up with these narratives? There is no "Busta was kind of on the same category". He was in the same category. Both of these days could get on songs with any rapper and kill the feature. Both made fun music with outlandish videos. You are not likely to find either of them listed in a Top 10 list of MC's. They would more likely be in the Top 25-30 range. Nobody's putting a Busta or Luda in a greatest Hip Hop albums list.

Luda is a radio personality on steroids.

He's very witty lyrically....but not artistic...and low key childishly corny.

You never hear a serious or thought provoking or even a gritty real album.

Pen game is nice, but he not hungry and you can tell.

He was a radio host in Atlanta long before he became a rapper. Him and another dude had the top evening show on Atlanta airwaves..he decided to give rap a try and the rest is history.

He can have thought provoking songs when he wants to
