Ludacris' music has aged terribly and it's high time we acknowledge it

Did Busta really have a longer run though and how is his music any more timeless than Luda's?

I’m a child of the 90’s so a song like ’Put your hands where I can see‘will sound more timeless to me than ‘Move’ for example but that could be my bias, plus Busta got big songs with the likes of Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey.

I think Busta was more musical with the themes and sounds he could create and also the times he would delve into the Rnb lane produced better results.

And yes I would say he had a longer run, Busta had big hits in 96, and still had a big hit and was somewhat relevant in 2011 with Look at Me Now,

Ludacris had from 2000 till 2010 really.

Ludacris still has "Roll Out", which is still big at sporting events. "Move" is still a timeless song. "Welcome To Atlanta" is timeless. And regardless if Busta has big songs with Janet and Mariah. Ludacris has bigger songs that didn't have features.

How was Busta more musical? And what did Busta do in the R&B lane that produced better results than "Yeah" or Ciara's "Oh".

Ludacris had a big hit in "How Low" in 2010 and was still featured on big hits until like 2015.

Come on we’re not comparing Usher and Ciara against Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey, even a song like Yeah which was a banger ain’t anywhere near as nice as What it’s Gonna be, this is actually the point Yeah sounds dated compared to a song that came out years before. That’s not even delving into the classics he’s got with Mariah which still make it to Rnb playlists till this day, for me there is two different levels of musicianship, let’s be honest here.

"Yeah" will still get a party going. That song is classic. We're not comparing Usher to Janet or Ciara to Mariah. We're comparing the songs. For the record, I like "What's It Gonna Be" more than I like "Yeah" and this is coming from someone that's from GA, but "Yeah" is a classic song and throw it on and it still gets people out of their seats. Busta only has one classic song with Mariah.

yeah is a culture defining track...

That Busta/Janet joint at its peak wasn't hittin the United States like Yeah did...that was an ANIMAL of a record

We can argue quality, but as far as impact, it's a non debate...

Luda ain't f***ing with Busta Rhymes period lol. Ludacris has had his moment in Hip-Hop history and is cemented (though I'm one who would argue his discography hasn't aged the best), Busta's music still holds on solid. Both legends though. This is the Versuz that needed to happen though imo.

As much as I enjoyed Luda's albums during his run, comparing him to Busta should seriously be considered blasphemy.

Busta's first 5 albums were incredible. Three of them are undeniable classics. And his career is easily one of the most storied and untouchable. Dude has been doing it since '91, and consistently was a part of classic music almost his entire career. From the LONS work to going solo, and his guest appearances, Busta is on a whole different level than Luda. Anyone saying otherwise, should do their homework.

Comparing Luda to Busta is not blasphemous. Same exact style of Hip Hop. Busta Rhymes doesn't have undeniable classic albums. People don't hold It Ain't Safe No More nor Anarchy as incredible albums. In fact, Genesis and Big Bang were considered comeback albums because Anarchy and It Ain't Safe No More were considered light Busta albums.

Luda has some MASSIVE records that he was apart of...

Admittedly off hand, I forgot some of his work, but when you actually go back and check, it's a very fair comparison....

The root of the discrepancy is Luda moving on to do films vs Busta still putting his efforts in to hip hop

Busta's shyt ain't aged well neither. Like Luda, Busta's albums always had a few bangers with a lot of filler. The only thing Bussa has over Luda is that Busta's rap career lasted longer and he has bangers from the 90s to the early 2010s. Luda did not last that long.

The Coming, ELE, When Disaster Strikes and Genesis were all top tier Hip Hop albums. Three of which are undeniable classics, in my opinion. Dude was damn near untouchable from '91-01. His sh*t with Tribe, and the group work with LONS was classic too. His guest appearances alone could be made into a greatest hits collection. I liked Luda's first few albums, but Busta was making classic sh*t damn near a decade before any of us even heard of a Ludacris. Even his last joint, ELE2 was dope. Luda wouldn't be able to drop anything on that level today. He could barely hold on just 5-6 years into his career. Busta is over 30 years in.

I feel like anyone saying otherwise, wasn't there for Busta's sh*t early on. Because there's no way that anyone who was would ever put Luda on the same level as Buss. If we're being honest, dude's verse on "Scenario" kills Luda's whole career.
