I'm wary of sci-fi movies with transhumanist themes starring Morgan Freeman after boring-ass Transcendence.

People use way to much hyperbole here. I was able to enjoy the film despite some flaws it had (what film doesn't)
I imagine that the final act isn't for everybody but if you like 2001 and/or surrealism then it shouldn't bother you.
