1. I made that record and video as nothing more than an 18 year old kid who wanted to rhyme and pay homage, no other intentions.
2. Finesse and I spoke on the phone for an hour after he heard the record and cleared the air. We even planned to work on music together
3. All I wanted to do is shed light on a generation that inspired me
5. Finesse never cleared the Oscar Peterson sample on the original record.

4. When I heard there was a problem, I reached out to him to try and solve it. No response.

Judge: Mac give this broke ass nikka 10k and lets adjourn :smh:

If the case is dismissed, will have to pay for Mac Millers lawyers as well? :krs:

But i'm kinda conflicted, on one side I can understand someone like Finesse. Cause rappers like Khalifa and Mac Miller made millions of their mixtapes through their shows that they got from the music they gave out for free. He is indirectly profiting from the intellectual property theft he committed. On the other side, it's hiphop shyt we don't expect our own kind to sue us when cats sample all type of music for their mixtapes without these rock, pop and soul people who don't even understand hiphop say nothing or at most CONSIDER. So I can't really say who's right. Specially when 98% of Macs fans probably thought it was his own beat.

Finesse might change the game, from now rappers might have to get contracts signed for the shyt they use on mixtapes. That will destroy the whole thing of it just being a fun hiphop thing, where you just hit someone up and it's all good.

At what point was it hip-hop for rappers to sue each other for samples. we've been sampling ourselves for 20 plus years and now dudes wanna complain about it. I am from Finesse's generation and I am ashamed of Lord's behavior. Dude used to be one of my favorite rappers. He should be glad there are kids out there willing to keep his sound alive.

Sad...

Finesse just tryin' to get a check.

How you gonna sue someone for using an instrumental containing a sample you didn't even clear?

Matter fact, Finesse has probably sampled a gang of records he didn't pay to use. I guess it's only wrong when it's "his" shyt bein' used.

I don't like a single solitary Mac Miller song, but Finesse is buggin' for this one.
