Being a Gentleman
It's one of those jobs and careers that can be hard to LEARN but easy to DO.

The hard part is getting used to the language and technique, but once you've started to learn those things it can be generally "easy" in the sense you see the same sort of things on a daily basis with different variations


Thank you for having the heart and the actual desire to make a post like this. We need more of this type of information around here.

What's the chances of me being able to stay in Texas after getting hired?

Do they just ship you to bumfukk, iowa without any consideration for your current residence??

If you get enroute, there are 22 facilities that you could get. Dallas and Houston seem to be on the list alot. New York and Oakland are two of the least desirable because training can take a few years, and the cost of living is so high. Here's a breakdown of the airspace that the centers have

If you go tower, then there might be a chance that on your list the only places that look good are away from your home state. The good news about tower is the training is generally MUCH shorter. Sometimes people are done in 6-10 months and then can transfer to a facility closer to home or higher in pay.
