Lizzo is like if Outkast started their career with Hey Ya. She's talented with fun songs but if she wants that black crowd she has to immerse herself in that world for a while and target that sound.

I have nothing against lizzo, i wish her well truly, she is an accomplished artist in her own right and her songs are catchy, the only issue i have is i feel sometimes she puts on a minstrel show type of act and is a bit to excessive especially in clothing and behaviour but all in all she is fine. It’s a damn shame that you think this … in addition to Prince I can hear elements of Funk and Earth Wind and Fire in her songs. Question, which white acts does she sound like?

Prince wrote for white pop and power pop groups, though, the Bangles being one major example.

It's okay to say that Lizzo makes music that mostly appeals to white women and white gay males in 2022 and also that her form of power pop has black influences. Both can be true.

Black folks are not listening to power pop in 2022, by and large. It is what it is. I don't see why it's an issue. No one should be calling her out for making the music she likes to make, and she shouldn't conflate her personal identity with her audience's identity.
