Curious what you guys are looking for in the draft for your squad. Like, what do you perceive is the public's view of what you need, vs what you think should be the top priority. For me...

Detroit Lions

Public perception on Lions' top draft need: cornerback.

Yes, our secondary was trash. Last offseason we signed Emmanuel Mosely to be our CB1 but he (literally) only played two snaps before tearing his ACL. The CB2 we signed, Cam Sutton, struggled for much of the second half of the season as started playing more man defense. And of course in the 2023 draft, the guy everyone knew we were going to draft (Devon Witherspoon) went a pick earlier to Seattle. In short yes, this team basically has one NFL caliber CB and we def need some help. But I'm not sure I believe we draft one in the 1st round.

My top draft need: interior o-line

Lions had a top 2 o-line last season so this could seem crazy but trust me. Both are starting guards are free agents, and it sounds like we're only bringing one back. Our All-Pro center (Frank Ragnow) has played with a nagging, in-operable toe injury for years; I'm pretty sure it's the same thing that forced Patrick Willis to retire. Drafting a center who can play guard seems like the biggest need to me. Ragnow isn't retiring this year so whoever we draft will start at guard first.

The guy I wish we could get? Jackson Powers-Johnson, Center, Oregon. But he's prob going within the 17-21st picks.

The guy I think we draft: Graham Barton, guard, Duke. Or...Zach Frazier, center, West Virginia. Either could start at guard for a year or two and then take over at center when Ragnow retires. Also gives us some depth flexibility if Ragnow misses games.

-JJ Mccacrthy is gonna go a lot higher than people think. Some team is gonna force it and take him top 15

-It’s a miraculous year for white athletes :heh:

Cooper Dejean and Ladd Mcconkey are legit. Mcconkey is a legit 6ft and might test sub 4.4 and will probably have a top 5 3-cone. He’s not just a typical Edelman white slot. I think he goes as a top 5 WR

I think Dejean is gonna be a star. My comp for him is honey badger

- If it’s not one of the top 3 WRs, might as well wait to the 2nd round. It’s gonna be a huge run on WRs late 1st/2nd round. It could be 10 WRs taken from 25-50 range

Nah he's a second rounder and definitely not top 5.

As a WR prospect, Steve Smith really likes Malachi Corley and compares him to D.K Metcalf. The difference is D.K is 6'4 while Malachi is 5'10.

That said he's built very similarly to Isiah Pacheco (although a little lighter/less dense): 5'10 ~210+ lbs. and that's basically someone no one wants to tackled when it gets cold.

NICE hands too. If I'm the Chiefs that's a WR I'd target.

I think if that guy lights up the combine dude is going bye-bye quick.

Got a Malik Nabers breakdown earlier today:

So is it really a toss up more than ever now because the play calling/coaching sucks in most cases?

This makes me frightened about 1- Jayden Daniels, and 2- Killf Kingsbury. It’s such a gigantic red flag that Kliff had one of the best QB prospects of a generation and he regressed.

Nabers will be a crazy weapon, hes prob the best WR prospect since Chase outside of MHJ whos in his same class

LSU is just turning out crazy WR talent right now - Brian Thomas JR might crush the combine
Nabers is nice but how he a better prospect then Smitty?

What its looking like for the Pats? QB, MHJ or trade back?

It's looking terrible no matter what happens.

I guess I hope they take MHJ, but I don't see Mac as the franchise QB. I don't watch enough college football to talk about the QB's, but I was never impressed by Maye when I watched him.

I'd like to see the Bears trade the #1 overall pick just to see what they'd get for it.

Just not the Patriots trading for that finger nail painting, blame pointing, wannabe Mahomes fraud.

NEGATIVES

— Poor footwork and hand usage as a route-runner. Lacks detail.

— Below-average spatial awareness as a route-runner. Too often runs into contact or traffic.

— Limited route tree and usage at this stage. Hardly asked to do anything but screens, flat routes and crossers.

— Explosiveness is closer to average than game-changing, even though his play style depends on it.

This doesn't sound like what KC needs and he does some things similar to Rashee Rice with screens and crosses. They need a WR who can stretch the field and connect for big plays. Troy Franklin fits that description and I'm hoping he doesn't impress at the combine and falls to them. I doubt that happens so they should probably go O-line then get a WR later. I'm trying to figure out who.
