not good handling adversity, has clear skills but everything needs to be laid out perfectly for his teams to succeed. His school also doesn't do him any favors.why do you think that? whats lacking with him?
I dont know enough about him as a person to say this definitively - are we basing this on when we ran to his mom after a loss or didnt honor his media requirements after a loss? or based on actual feedback from coaches, people that have been in the locker room with him? there has been a lot of conjecture here but he has done himself favors with some of his actionsnot good handling adversity, has clear skills but everything needs to be laid out perfectly for his teams to succeed. his awareness and ability to navigate a pocket is highI mean I can see Justin failing if Eberflus is a disaster this season and they make a poor coaching hire afterwards.
To me Caleb really needs structure. If someone can get him to take the layups and get more in rhythm he can be great. Its imperative that his mobility really does translate to prime Russell Wilson though.
Yep.The Caleb thing is simple to me. If the pocket movement translates he won't miss. If it doesn't he will fail.
Some good insight I read about him recently:I dont know enough about him as a person to say this definitively - are we basing this on when we ran to his mom after a loss or didnt honor his media requirements after a loss? or based on actual feedback from coaches, people that have been in the locker room with him? there has been a lot of conjecture here but he has done himself favors with some of his actions
the maturity issues are a bit worrisome, but thats the job of Poles to sort through. I can really only go on what hes put on tape here and his arm talent & awareness is off the charts
So when people say he's questionable "handling adversity", that's also absolutely false. Dude has gone for the higher challenge his whole life.Perhaps the biggest reason why those who have coached Williams believe he ultimately won’t shy away from being a Chicago Bear, is because he has never shied away from competition.
Williams was not handed the starting job at Gonzaga. He had to compete with two upperclassmen (one of whom went on to play lacrosse at Penn State) and wasn’t named the starter until right before his freshman season began. And when Williams went to Oklahoma, he knew the path to starting right away was blocked by Spencer Rattler, who at the time was the Heisman Trophy favorite. Williams started the 2021 season on the bench before taking over for Rattler in the middle of the Red River Rivalry, leading OU to an improbable comeback win over Texas.
Facing challenging situations is nothing new for Williams, and succeeding as a Chicago Bears quarterback is certainly a challenge.
I agree with this. I think he processes quickly and has good awareness. He might need to reign it in in the NFL but the reason he holds the ball and extends his time holding the ball is because he’s looking to make a play, not because he can’t see the field wellThe Caleb thing is simple to me. If the pocket movement translates he won't miss. If it doesn't he will fail.
