It’s just not cool enough imo. Cowboy Bebop had so much swag. Spike is the coolest anime character of alltime. It’s just missing the coolness

It's the director's vision, go on IMBD and look at the directors and the writters credits, and then their pictures, and do you thing anything is cool about them

This is their vision they think its cool

they made Vicious into an abusive husband, sadist, weirdo, when he was just mad Spike was his best friend and took his bytch from him, that's why he wanted to kill them both, I mean the shyt was pretty clear in the series this is where the hatred spawned from

Zack Synder take graphic novels and make them live action panel by panel, that's all they had to do with the Cowboy Bebop Manga which is basically a story board

They tried too much to make it a live action cartoon, you have to blame the director's trying to create their own vision of it

I mean look at Spike's clothes, they do not look like a real clothes, they look like cartoon clothes, I mean it's not hard to make a high quality version of spike's clothes, it's just a suit and tie, he look like a cosplayer, and he didn't even have the trench coat on in the church fight scene, which is symbolism to his gangster past, in all the flashbacks of his syndicate days he is wearing the trench coat, in both fights with Vicious he is wearing the trench coat signifying that he has entered back into his old world

Vicious looks like a fakkit, and isn't a menacing dark character, this are all creative takes the producers and director decided to do to make the story their own

egos are always involved in these things, when people take IPs they did not create, and want to make their own version of it and it's always the worst
I'm only 3 episodes in... But dem flashback scenes looks like some fan made quality shyt. The shots just looks rough like they forgot to put it through post processing. Vicious looks terrible. The need to overkill the antagonist is the worst stereotype. It's like a child... You know what he needs to be more evil. Do evil shyt. Like we haven't seen this a million times in other mediums. Keep shyt simple and relatable.

im on episode 3 now. this is pretty good. i dont know what some people expect when you adapt an anime. the anime has loads of goofy stuff so i dont know how else you expect it to transfer to live action

I like it thus far

And anime fans disliking this was as predictable as a sunrise because whining about shyt is their personality

Vicious is terrible in this. I don't mind the campy tone, it kinda works, show got a lil charm and style but it's missing brilliance and some overall direction. Vicious doesn't have the gravitas. Cho isn't bad but he isn't great either, hes just an ok spike for me, Jet is Great. Faye is meh for me, but I think it's how she's written.

This is what I think bothers me . I don’t need his vision I already have Wanatabe’s vision he literally created a show and a movie to tell this story. This isn’t a comic turned movie . There is no “universes” for anime.

They got a one piece series and Yu Yu hakusho show coming out. :francis:

I think they should of tried some more obscure easier to replicate mangas.

I don’t why people keep saying jet is great. :mindblown:

Is it because the rest of the casting is so shyt or he’s a breh. that doll shyt and Udai episode were bad.

No Whammies!!
Great show, but the cinematography trying to emulate a super old anime is a bad decision. Should of try to modernize and improve upon it. What shots works in Anime doesn't lend itself to looking great in live action.

I'll take a very simple shot in a the second episode of a drink being filled from perpendicular axial angle from underneath. It was just basic, flat, and lack detail. What I would of done was high detail magnify shot of about 10 or 50X. Slow it down to high speed. Then the shot goes through glass spins upright into the main characters face for a close up. All looks like one shot spliced together with parlor tricks and CGI.

What hurts this show the most is the camera work... You can feel at times at how old this series is... When it shouldn't be. The show is at its best with wide shots too.

To me, it reminded me more of something like a Robert Rodriguez movie :manny:

Finished the first two episodes, I like it so far:yeshrug:

Granted, I haven't seen the anime in years, so I'm really not comparing the two and just looking at the show for what it is. I'm curious how they're going to portray Ed though:heh:
