Ok. I do like the banter between Spike and Jet. It's a bit more lighthearted and campy then I'd like but hopefully the show is able to capture the more serious scenes later. I did not like them introducing Faye like that nore the Asimove storyline with how it was handled. The show did it better but I appreciate them trying to pay homage to the OG show with the in between credits and episode listing style. The music is a plus for sure I'm glad they kept the jazz theme going.

I do NOT like Viscous so far:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:Dude doesn't give off sadistic, cold, or ominous :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:I think the room being all bright and shyt didn't help the atmosphere of what that scene was trying to do:jbhmm:I wish the budget was more Altered Carbon levels that show felt futuristic.

I'm sticking with it though I definitely don't hate it isn't bad:manny:

I am not feeling this. Jet and Spike great on screen chemistry but everything else about this fall flat.
Netflix missed a chance to be innovative with this and opted to do a traditional 1 hour style show with linear story telling.
The critics have praised the main cast

But shidded on the writers

It's not trash which all I wanted. Way better than that Deathnote shyt and GiS live action
A GiS TV show with an original story could actually be done pretty well. They just got to find the right actress to play the Major

You can call me a conspiracy theorist, but I feel like reviewers will shyt on something anticipated to get views in the same way Facebook uses anger porn with politics to get views on articles.

I don't think anything is possible of keeping up with the original, but there's no way Netflix releases it with this much promo if it's as bad as these reviews say aka making it seem like it's death note bad.

I'm following this up by saying it's not the original, but it's good. People were brigading rotten tomatoes to shyt on it the morning it came out. It was more good than bad or weird (even Vicious turned into something reasonably well rounded) and if it was called something instead of Bebop people would be less motivated to shyt on it.

I'll watch it again in the next week or two.

No Whammies!!
I'm must be exactly in the target demographic for this show:
I remember the original (from when they marathoned it one time on the Cartoon Network many years ago), but I'm not SO attached to it that I'm going to nitpick every change in tone.

From my perspective, this show is better that most Netflix original shows that are more highly praised (e.g. Altered Carbon, Lupin, Sweet Tooth).
It's not "The Expanse", but its fun to watch and I finished the whole thing in 2 days without getting bored.

Great show, but the cinematography trying to emulate a super old anime is a bad decision. Should of try to modernize and improve upon it. What shots works in Anime doesn't lend itself to looking great in live action.

I'll take a very simple shot in a the second episode of a drink being filled from perpendicular axial angle from underneath. It was just basic, flat, and lack detail. What I would of done was high detail magnify shot of about 10 or 50X. Slow it down to high speed. Then the shot goes through glass spins upright into the main characters face for a close up. All looks like one shot spliced together with parlor tricks and CGI.

What hurts this show the most is the camera work... You can feel at times at how old this series is... When it shouldn't be. The show is at its best with wide shots too.

Zack Synder take graphic novels and make them live action panel by panel, that's all they had to do with the Cowboy Bebop Manga which is basically a story board

They tried too much to make it a live action cartoon, you have to blame the director's trying to create their own vision of it

I mean look at Spike's clothes, they do not look like a real clothes, they look like cartoon clothes, I mean it's not hard to make a high quality version of spike's clothes, it's just a suit and tie, he look like a cosplayer, and he didn't even have the trench coat on in the church fight scene, which is symbolism to his gangster past, in all the flashbacks of his syndicate days he is wearing the trench coat, in both fights with Vicious he is wearing the trench coat signifying that he has entered back into his old world

Vicious looks like a fakkit, and isn't a menacing dark character, this are all creative takes the producers and director decided to do to make the story their own

egos are always involved in these things, when people take IPs they did not create, and want to make their own version of it and it's always the worst
