Dude should've never gone to Serie A. Obviously the money was too good to turn done (it was a world record transfer fee at the time) but that was the beginning of the end for dude.

Imagine prime and healthy Ronaldo and Christian Vieri together in the attack :whoo::banderas:
r9 healthy over a full career would be thee football deity

cristiano violated with that shirt to me his shirt should say cristiano

cause ronaldo is r9 period

This whole thread is fukking dumb and why sports talk in this country has hit maximum jackass. If you dont think Messi is one of the greats you're retarded. I'm sorry, but that's just true. We do this shyt in every sport now where if someone ain't doing something ridiculous everytime they're out then they're trash. There is literally no chill with the hyperbole with some of ya'll. Saying that a man with his pedigree is a fraud is just dumb. This is the same shyt some of ya'll do with Bron or Steph or KD now. It dont matter what any of ya'll type all 3 of them will be mentioned as greats.
Its swag. He is retarded. :ld:

The bash Messi is getting is so unfair :wow:

Messi and CR7 are 1a and 1b when it comes to the GOAT.

Then Pele and Maradona follow with the rest.

Edit: :dead: at comparing Messi to a scrub like Harden. The pure disrespect:wow:

Where did these football analysis come from?

Go back to watching your boring basketball shyt :camby:

Kylian Mbappe is better than all the names you mentioned.

The true GOAT in soccer is between Brazilian Ronaldo and Ronaldinho.

Messi is James Harden. Just deal with it.

Ya'all talking about soccer players leading teams to world cup titles "by themselves" in an 11-man sport with a 100-meter long field. :mjlol:

If you play for a country that produces as much talent as Argentina, you have no excuse to not win the World Cup if you're some all-time great. Its not like Messi plays for some country like Romania that ain't never done shyt or barely produces any noteworthy players. He plays for fukkin Argentina. One of the 4 most prestigious footballing nations. He has NO EXCUSE to not win a world cup if he's as good as he's billed up to be.

Brazilian Ronaldo won a world cup. Ronaldinho won a world cup. Zidane won a world cup. If all 3 of those guys did it, why can't this lil midget?

Imagine people calling LeBron the GOAT as he delivers a 2011 Mavs type Finals performance time after time in the NBA Finals.

That's basically what this Messi character is. He gets called the GOAT but then chokes in the world cup and other international competition time after time.

I don't blame Messi for 2014. I blame Higuain. Messi carried Argentina on his back that World Cup.

He can't do it alone. Even if he's contending for GOAT of this era against the Man of Steel, Ronaldo

Messi can't be the GOAT if he doesn't have a World Cup title.

There have been several players throughout history that have won that title with less surrounding talent. Maradona won the 86 World Cup practically by himself. Meanwhile, Messi's had an embarrassment of talent surrounding him since the 06 WC and beyond.

Get out of your feelings, stan. :MichelleSideEyeStare:

They were miserably bad because their best player didn't show up.

Are you trying to suggest that Croatia is a better team than Argentina?

You can't start calling his team horrible now that they are losing but not say that before the tournament. Last I checked they were one of the favorites going into this tournament. But then they get destroyed by a Croatia team that struggled in qualification and now I'm supposed to believe they are world beaters.

You're problem is you are letting his success in club football cloud what you are seeing right now from him in the world cup.

I would love for you guys to watch and understand argentinian media. Messi has been called a fraud by a portion of media - a big one before 2012/13, a much smaller one since then - for a decade now, for the same and other reasons as the ones in the OP. People get in arguments and shouting matches that make Stephen A, Skip and Shannon look like polite scholars. The video in the OP is child's play to what Messi is used to hearing in his home country.

The talk around him since they lost Copa America to us in 2015 has been that he doesn't let managers do anything on their own, that he forces them to put the players he likes, which negates any attempt by said managers to implement the style and strategies they want. For a long time the narrative every time Argentina does poorly - which in the past few years has been A LOT - is that management is scared of him/respect him too much and that players are either afraid of him or have no fukking clue how to approach him. You add that to one of the most corrupt and incompetent football associations in the world and you get a delicious cocktail of frustration, anger, blame that makes for an INCREDIBLE TV experience :ahh:
