This attention seeking chump @Swagnificent has admitted that he doesn't watch football, yet talks as if he's the ultimate authority on the subject.

As with any sport, I only need to see a few minutes of tape to tell whether a guy can play or not. I actually never got to see Brazilian Ronaldo play in his prime. The only time I remember watching him close to his prime was the 2002 world cup. And even then he had already suffered a significant knee injury. However, I did see enough highlights of him during that 1996-1998 time period when he had not yet torn up his knee to know he was something out of this world. A unique and special player not seen before or since.

I've seen way more footage of Messi. Both domestic and international. And while he's definitely good. He's no where close to being the greatest of all-time. Or even the best of his era. Cristiano has been better than him in this era. And in the previous era, Brazilian Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, and Zidane have been vastly superior. As moving forward, I've seen enough of this 19 year old Kylian Mpabbe to know he'll also be better than Messi.

This thread is retarded! On so many levels! Yeah because frauds get the Ballon d'Or 4 years in a row that makes you a fraud!

I would love for you guys to watch and understand argentinian media. Messi has been called a fraud by a portion of media - a big one before 2012/13, a much smaller one since then - for a decade now, for the same and other reasons as the ones in the OP. People get in arguments and shouting matches that make Stephen A, Skip and Shannon look like polite scholars. The video in the OP is child's play to what Messi is used to hearing in his home country.

The talk around him since they lost Copa America to us in 2015 has been that he doesn't let managers do anything on their own, that he forces them to put the players he likes, which negates any attempt by said managers to implement the style and strategies they want. For a long time the narrative every time Argentina does poorly - which in the past few years has been A LOT - is that management is scared of him/respect him too much and that players are either afraid of him or have no fukking clue how to approach him. You add that to one of the most corrupt and incompetent football associations in the world and you get a delicious cocktail of frustration, anger, blame that makes for an INCREDIBLE TV experience :ahh:

:laff: :laff:

To be truthful Messi will never be Diego and that has to do with a lot of things.

Diego is working class and Messi is middle class. So have to put things in perspective. I do believe this talk of Messi as GOAT is just way off the mark but at the same time Messi is chasing a football God!

Say the odds were reversed and Messi by some miracles wins this word cup he still won't be as good as Diego in Argentina and that is because the people of Argentina embrace Diego and a hard worker poor kid that pulled himself up and Messi as the pampered middle class kid that got to many breaks. He can't win no matter what he does!

  • You've admitted you don't watch football
  • We know you don't watch football
  • Probably never played, either
  • You're in the hall of shame
  • You're a flat earther

Your opinion on it is invalid, my friend.

I actually did play soccer growing up. Not for a long time but for lil bit. And just because I don't watch it every week doesn't mean I don't watch soccer. I watch the world cup and the big champions league matches. And now that I've seen Kylian Mbappe, I'll probably start watching PSG play on the regular as well.

I like watching great players and since Ronaldinho fell off there hasn't been anyone worthy of watching on the regular in club soccer.
