To be truthful Messi will never be Diego and that has to do with a lot of things.

Diego is working class and Messi is middle class. So have to put things in perspective. I do believe this talk of Messi as GOAT is just way off the mark but at the same time Messi is chasing a football God!

He also never played in Argentina as a pro, that REALLY plays against him. If he had played for Newell's Old Boys he'd probably be a hero for at least half the city of Rosario (and a respected "villain" for the other half) - which is huge and one of the most passionate fanbases - but he doesn't have that back up for every horrible performance a failure he has with the national team.

Pre-injury Ronaldo was explosive and strong. He had a stout build very similar to Alvin Kamara with strong powerful legs. Plus at 6'0" he was the prototypical height.

If Ronaldo grew up in America instead of Brazil, he could've easily been an incredible and powerful running back. He's that good of an athlete.
