Wayne just didn't/hasn't evolved like one would have expected a rapper of his skills caliber and time in the game to get to. If he would have gotten to that point where he was spitting verses like he did on Hollywood Divorce then he would looked at a better light then he currently is.

Wayne's brain, especially the people who ever thought his music was ever intelligent.

I haven't been a fan of Wayne since before he technically became "good".

I loved the HB's, I loved TBIH...then all of a sudden (Gillie) he started biting Jay Z and becomes this lyrical east coast darling...I got off the train right around C2.

Not to say he hasn't had good verses or songs since then but I just don't think it was a natural progression from shyt like this:

Like if Juvie all of a sudden started trying to rap like Nas I'd be like...:what:

Sun, me and you are the same in that regard. I havent been a wayne fan since TBIH / Lights Out which still had me a lil worried. 500 degreez was all I could take, That was one of the hardest pills to swallow musically; I was a hair short of stanning wayne up to that point, not proud of it but its the truth. When that dud 500 dropped I knew it was over for CMR and all that Hotboy shyt And it was clear Wayne couldnt hold it down by himself at that time following the break up and was struggling to find a new identity outside of his HB persona;

He cut the braids offs, changed his cadence and dropped his famous adlibs and sound effects. But what really stood out to me was how content wise, he devolved IMO, Alot of the shyt he was spittin as a 13-16 yr old had more weight to it than the technically flashy kill-a-nikka mob talk seen on the carter series I.E. of the former; "Dirty World", "get it how u live", "fukk the world", "Its up to me", are better than his later songs on those Carter albums. so yeah.. I definitely dont think his career followed a natural progression considering the potential he showed on his earlier albums and group projects with he HBs.

Also about Juvey trying to rap like Nas, It sort of already happened IMO lol,.....................

That 1st verse ....Whew!

When he actually focuses on his content and uses the right production ( he rarely does either anymore) he makes those songs that make you go :wow:. I'm a just leave this gem in here for those who didn't get the Wayne hype back in his peak. He can be an all time great MC when he actually puts forth some kind of effort

I remember around this time people wanted to throw TI into the GOAT convo also

:mjlol: People are stupid

Yall remember a few message board arguments and act like it was popular opinion...nobody over 18 was saying that shyt:pachaha:

Tryna front on Wayne or T.I makes yall look more stupid then the Wayne stans:martin:

As sumbody who was a fan since Hot Boyz days...him being my favorite Hot Boy member,me knowing he would be the biggest out of the group:wow:..i definitley think Wayne fell off a bit before Carter 3,because i remember expcting C3 to be wack as shyt,but to be hyped up by his new phony fans anyway....i stopped listening after we seen him kissing Baby in the mouth though,i guess becoming wack was yalls tipping point:picard:?

I jumped ship just at the right time,and yall can gtfoh acting like Wayne didnt hVe bars...Hotboys era Wayne had bars,calling him trash just goes to show you didnt listen,or you have anti south bias..
