Wayne is in my top 5 rappers of all time... His fall off from his peak was significant though, and he gets judged on it more than others because he's had damn near a 20 year run of relevancy and it's kept him in the spotlight (as opposed to falling back and no one caring...like I got Cube top 10 and haven't even bothered to listen to a single album of his after WSC, let alone knock him for them)....its like Kobe when he kept playing after his Achilles tear for those last seasons and all the hating ass analytics nerds were falling over themselves to retcon his career... also was the reigning defending messegeboard Antichrist to rap smarks before Drake took the baton, so he has that working against him...

All that said, if you front on prime Wayne ...And he ain't have some waning gone with the wind type prime either...Talking like sqad era '01ish to No Ceiling '11ish... I don't respect your opinion
What's your top-5 my breh?

Quite the opposite for me the older I got the more I respected Wayne's craft I used to be a hater in 2009-2010

Overrated with a bad voice and a lot of terrible records but at times a very good lyricist

I mean don't people typically out grow damn near every rapper they listen to...

As for wayne...I just feel bad for him...dude has basically been jerked out his whole life and he only in his 30's...

Yeah, if they start listening to them when they were 10.

" I was 9 when such an such came out, I've grown out of their music"

Yeah ok nikka, I grew out of Kris Kross music too, stfu.

I've followed Wayne career from the beginning

I liked him during the Hot Boys early Cash Money era, he stood out in the group even at a young age, and Block is Hot was a nice record

He then stagnated for a while until the Carter dropped, held it down for a few years with the first two Carter's and the crazy mixtape run he was on

Carter 3 onwards, dude regressed into this lazy auto tune forefather of mumble rap

At his prime Wayne was a beast let there be no doubt

I never was a huge fan but I respected the talent and recognized it

My issue with Wayne was always the non music shyt, the way he dissed Juvie with that 500 degree shyt, the way he dissed the other Hot Boys, him kissing Baby, all that wierdo goofy shyt

You're clearly revising history like a thot trying to get a new man

No revisionist history here. 2005-2011 were my late HS and entire college years, directly coinciding with Wayne's rise and peak. I remember the praise the Carters and those hoards of mixtapes he got. I remember how Wayne stans used to shyt themselves over 8 minute aimless freestyles he used to do, supposedly "goin in". During that entire period he was simply a dude that knew how to ride a beat very well, yet had one of the WOAT voices in rap, but people still elevated him far past what he really was. And in 2017, he barely even has flow. Maybe things would have been different had he not let Birdman drug him up and kiss him all those years.

There is a reason why the Carters and mixtapes got praise, and that's because they were all fire.

LOL at saying Wayne only knows how to ride a beat well, that's some more dumb shyt man. His voice was way better than you're giving him credit for, there's a reason why he influenced great rappers like Kendrick.

You're just hating to hate, nikka.

He was never better than average from the jump. In 06 when everybody was ":krs::krs::krs::krs::krs::leon:" at every line he spit, I seemed to be the only person not the least impressed. Didn't take me ten years to realize that. "Blue and yellow, like Carmelo" ":ooh:" "I jump up in this shyt like a poo poo in the potty" ":krs:", "I got 10 bathrooms I can shyt all day" ":ohlawd::ohlawd:"

:martin::camby:

But nikkas is accusing us of rewriting history when we was saying this wack shyt in his prime

y'all nikkas love to change history lmao

Wayne been hot, just started falling off around C4. the same nikkas that are talking about how trash Wayne is, are prolly the same nikkas that was dumping Best Rapper Alive when it came out. Wayne changed the mixtape game and was on every single hot track at his peak. y'all aint about to tell me that Wayne been trash since No Ceilings when he's dropped fire after that. Now as of the last 5 years? He's definitely dropped off. NC2 and SFTW2 were both fukking garbage but y'all not about to revise history like a thot.

nikka what? you just hating if you think this track wasn't lyrical

This shyt is lyrical to you a bunch of preschool lines

"nikka we are so ready for the war
C-A-R-T-E-R
Put the beat in ER
I’m colder than “b-r”
Add another 3 “r"’s
Watch me like D-V-D, V-C-R
Pump to your chest – I ain’t talking CPR
Riding this track like a muthafukking street car
New Orleans coroner, his name is Frank Minyard
fukk with me wrong, you’ll be waking up in his yard
Man, I go crazy on the beat – I go Nimrod
Man, I act a ass, treat the beat like a hemorrhoid
Man, I go to work on the beat, call it employed
Man, I kicks it, bytch – get your shin guard
Uh, Young Money run this towns, countries
I still eat rappers – mmm, scrumptious
My goons tote thumpers
They pop em like krumpers
Anybody’s beat, I’m gon' go Archie bonkers
Tunechi be the wildest, lets run the metropolis
I pop like lollies, you drop like eyelids
The money keep calling, I hear the shyt dialing
And they say money talks – you can hear my shyt hollering"
