He was never better than average from the jump. In 06 when everybody was ":krs::krs::krs::krs::krs::leon:" at every line he spit, I seemed to be the only person not the least impressed. Didn't take me ten years to realize that. "Blue and yellow, like Carmelo" ":ooh:" "I jump up in this shyt like a poo poo in the potty" ":krs:", "I got 10 bathrooms I can shyt all day" ":ohlawd::ohlawd:"

:martin::camby:

thats not even how the lines goes smh

"nikka we are so ready for the war
C-A-R-T-E-R
Put the beat in ER
I’m colder than “b-r”
Add another 3 “r"’s
Watch me like D-V-D, V-C-R
Pump to your chest – I ain’t talking CPR
Riding this track like a muthafukking street car
New Orleans coroner, his name is Frank Minyard
fukk with me wrong, you’ll be waking up in his yard
Man, I go crazy on the beat – I go Nimrod
Man, I act a ass, treat the beat like a hemorrhoid
Man, I go to work on the beat, call it employed
Man, I kicks it, bytch – get your shin guard
Uh, Young Money run this towns, countries
I still eat rappers – mmm, scrumptious
My goons tote thumpers
They pop em like krumpers
Anybody’s beat, I’m gon' go Archie bonkers
Tunechi be the wildest, lets run the metropolis
I pop like lollies, you drop like eyelids
The money keep calling, I hear the shyt dialing
And they say money talks – you can hear my shyt hollering"

tell me that shyt aint hot

I can drop over 100 wack Lill Wayne lines in this thread right now and the coli will respond by saying some dumb shyt like "Well what you dont' realize is when you have that many albums and mixtapes and such a huge body of work, bad lines are meant to happen once in a while from time to time".

They just cannot admit that he is wack as hell. Now i will say as i always say that Wayne, Kanye and Gucci are easily the most influential rappers of the past 10 years with how they affected the direction of the rap game, fashion and all their b*stard children and impersonators. But Wayne music wise is hot garbage and guys need to stop lying to themselves.

wayne himself has referred to himself as wack on multiple occasions. posters in here keep talking about us trying to "rewrite history". yes i can admit in high school that i was hoodwinked by the hype at start believing all his features were so dope or something but remember the thread title itself says "it takes you getting older to realize how wack he is".

That is the purpose of what the thread is saying and dumb posters still wanna restate the obvious talking about rewriting history.

yes he is a legend but he is one of the weakest legends and arguably has a worst catalog than eminem. the fact this guy is the face of the millennials and will be viewed as the goat millennial emcee is just so embarrassing. i already prepared for all the GOAT talk the day we sign in the coli and see the headline "Lil Wayne dead"

He was trash after Hot Boy$ Guerilla Warfare. Dude was just a rapper, rapping. When the hype machine was at full force of him being a " dope lyricist" I constantly had the :dwillhuh: cause his bars were trash.

Don't tell me something is a porterhouse steak when in reality it's a slim jim

this post is the definition of rewriting history lmao. Wayne has some wack bars like anyone else in the rap game but he also has many more hot bars. Wayne has a way better discography than Em, now you're just saying dumb shyt lol.

I'd like to see where Wayne referred to himself as wack.

I also can't see how such a wack rapper can have such a large influence.

Wayne was great from 2004-2008. Carter III was mediocre and then shyt went downhill FAST.
Breh has been trash for a damn near decade. Has to be some sort of a record.

I think only Eminem rivals him as far as fall offs go. Only thing is, Wayne should have never been considered some top tier/elite level MC in the first place. No one thought of him that way until he started pushing that gimmick. Had he just stayed in his lane, his fall off wouldn't have been so awful. Eminem can't find a good beat to save his life, and chooses to be an extreme lyrical miracle rapper instead of actually making good songs. Lil' Wayne can probably find good beats, but he is just a flat out terrible rapper all around now. He got out-rapped by 2Chainz on the "joint album" they had. At this point, he probably couldn't even go bar for bar with Soulja Boy.

Dweebs nd their revisionist history :smh:.
Wayne was a monster at his peak...AN ABSOLUTE MONSTER. Ngga arguably had one of the GOAT runs. Simultaneously had the streets nd the commercial lanes post Hov run. Rather the revisionist nggas just say Wayne was poppin "before you u were cool" :troll:......Nggas would be more comfortable wit that.

I ain't boo-hooing about Wayne specifically, I'm boo hooing about people who have such little respect for the culture and the art form in general. That incident just kinda personifies the kind of behavior that the music industry has encouraged in regards to our shyt.

Not saying no other rapper has been heckled but come on now...a lot of these nikkas with the most shyt to say can't even get straight on square one and actually talk/think like they actually respect what we come here to discuss. I'd be willing to be whoever threw that cup is the same type of person that gets on here with that bullshyt.

I'm protective of Hip Hop...whatever you feel about Wayne he is one of 'ours" regardless of how it played out with industry politricks, IMO of course.

I'm just saying. its not the 1st or the last time somebody threw something on stage.

but now people are on here throwing pity-parties for wayne.

in the past, we've seen rappers and/or their entourage jump into the crowd if someone threw something on stage, and people would be on here criticizing the rappers.
but now that it happens to wayne, and he does nothing but stop the show and go home....people are all :therethere: about it.

I'm not feeling that.

I told you it ain't about Wayne specifically, I'm sick of the disrespect for the culture. Not that Wayne is some kinda lone shining example but fukk that. If that ain't what you're on.

Ehh...I'm a grown up. I'm glad nobody from the stage jumped in the crowd due to the legal implications. I guess that doesn't sound all that cool but who cares.

Honestly the nikkas who paid money to see the show shoulda turned dude upside down if anything, but that's my thought process at the moment. They the ones who missed out, not Wayne. He got his money and left.
