Trust me, there have been way worse rappers before and after him. but none have been so hyped. he is the reason i stopped listening to the fukking radio. I completely stopped listening to the gott damn radio entirely because of him like 10+ years ago. Im really thinking that it was a regional thing because there wasnt many ppl in NY that I knew saying that wayne was this incredible rapper. Nah, Wayne was Nasty technically. Carter, carter 2, he was spitting with ferocity. Somewhere down the line (maybe 2010??) he started sounding drowsy, lazy and uninspired. Sounded like whatever speech impediment he had got exacerbated. Dude really started rapping how them dope fiends talk, slurring/ not enunciating and spitting 3 corny punchlines about p*ssy per verse. He regressed in all areas since his come up on those squad up tapes and his reign as one of the best during the following studio albums

He was never nasty technically he rarlely ever had any good bars
