The name the Yakuza series in Japan is Ryu ga Gotoku which means Like a Dragon.

From now on the mainline "Yakuza" games will now be turn based RPGs. The Judgement series will be combat and detective based. As this is a Gaiden, this means that it's a side story.

But it will play similarly to Yakuza 0-6.

So yes, kinda.

This is most likely replacing it due to an issue with the actor that plays Yagami. Also, if you played Kaito files DLC it was kind of a send off to the series tbh.
