Had the thread stated, "lets talk about how DMX had a great '98" I wouldnt even have came into this thread because the shyt doesnt interest me at all.

This isn't a thread about giving DMX props though. That thread would have been called "Remember the huge year DMX had in 1998?". The thread was a comparison post - asserting that X dominated 1998. The thread starter brought this on himself when he made a claim that he should have known wasn't factually sound. He made it worse by actually trying to defend his untenable position.

The two posts below this one already prove how slow you are so I won't go into actually replying to your post but I will say that I didn't even get into this thread until the 8th page, way after Jay was brought into the discussion. Now stop concerning yourself with what I do (I don't need any stans) and get involved in the convo if you actually have something to say.
My point is this IN 1998 DMX released IDAHIH in May and was certified 2x plat in November, FOMF was released on 12/22 so it's really not even a factor in 1998. Jay-Z was killing the summer and then released HKL on 9/29 and after 5 weeks at #1 it was certified 3x plat on 12/16/98. This is what led to him headlining his own sold out arena tour with DMX in the supporting slot in early March of 99. These are facts, not what I remember or what I heard, yall can't dispute it.

My mind may be fuzzy, but what songs were the summer of 1998, since he was killing it. The HKL tour was co-billed, there were seperate instances when Jay would close the show, and times when X closed the show, but I'll let you tell it, X was 2nd tier both him and Jay headlined it, in 98 Jay and X both had good years, X was Bron, and Jay was Durant.So you won't reply to my posts because the truth hurts don't it

I always said the problem with these forums are you clowns who obsess over who is writing the posts then the actual content of the posts. On to the topic, the songs leading to Jay dominating the album charts in 1998 were "HKL" (obviously), "Can I Get A", "Money Aint a Thing", and "Nygga What Nygga Who" to name a few. As for the tour, you will never find a co-billed tour named after one of the artists album. Case in point, the "Ruff Ryders/Cash Money Tour" was co-headlined, the "Home and Home Tour" was co-headlined and they took turns closing it, the "Legends of the Summer" is co-headlined. The HKL tour was never co-headlined and they never took turns closing the shows, ever, it was always Jay. I really don't know how that rumor got started but it never happened.
