Why? She has like 10 lines in the whole movie. The best one being "No no no.".
Irrelevant. Movies with no dialogue at all have been nominated for Oscars. Actors with no dialogue at all have been nominated for Emmys, etc.

Amount of lines have never been a criteria for Oscar Noms so I don't know why you brought that upWhy? She has like 10 lines in the whole movie. The best one being "No no no.".

They were the ones that were hyping it up the most. I work with some older country white guys that were telling me how good the movie was and I needed to go see it. When I went to go see it probably half of the people in the packed audience were white.By black people mostly. White people didn't give a shyt about Get Out as much as you would like to think. Hence why all the cac movies are cleaning up. Lady Bird and 3 Billboards were the worst movies I saw last year, but cacs are praising them. Get Out doesn't have a chance with the line up of cac films this year.
Yea, the deaf girl from Shape of Water is nominated, but she gave an outstanding performance.Irrelevant. Movies with no dialogue at all have been nominated for Oscars. Actors with no dialogue at all have been nominated for Emmys, etc.

Yea, but we are talking about the cac Oscars here. She isn't a cac or well known actress. IMO her performance wasn't Oscar nom worthy. She was creepy af though.Amount of lines have never been a criteria for Oscar Noms so I don't know why you brought that up
IMO, Her performance was crucial to the overall feel of the movie.
Funny. Older cacs at my workplace were calling it nonsense. Maybe cause I'm in Canada though. They were the ones that were hyping it up the most. Mary J and Octavia were both nominated for supporting actress.Yea, the deaf girl from Shape of Water is nominated, but she gave an outstanding performance.

Now Tiffany Haddish should have gotten a nom. But cacs only seem to allow one black per category.
I stand corrected. Oscars stepping it up this year.Mary J and Octavia were both nominated for supporting actress.
Probably. Im in the South and live in an area with the leans to the right conservative Christian side (look up Jerry Falwell, he and now his son are pretty much our post Crisis Lex Luthor (Sr. - bald Lex, Jr. - with hair Lex))Funny. Older cacs at my workplace were calling it nonsense. Maybe cause I'm in Canada though.
Whether it’s the “Cac” Oscars or not has nothing to do with if she was worthy of a nomination.Yea, the deaf girl from Shape of Water is nominated, but she gave an outstanding performance.

I believe Queen Viola and Octavia were nominated together for “The Help” and Will and Denzel were together also. That was Denzel’s Training Day win.I stand corrected. Oscars stepping it up this year.
